Until I read this book, I was flailing on the non-academic job market. I didn't know how to convert my vita into an "industry" resume, or how important LinkedIn is in today's job market, or how to start the networking process with industry folks. If you're looking to make the jump from the Ivory Tower to industry, and you don't know where to start, you need this book. Each chapter is written in easily digestible chunks of information that will help you rethink your job search with hopes of being successful in obtaining a job in industry. I didn't know how wrong my search strategy was until I got this book. I'm just starting to put the ideas within into practice, and one thing it has already done for me is give me a bit more confidence as I see my next challenge and adventure.

Very proud of this book... I wrote the foreword. I've known Isaiah for years. He's a good guy and he knows his stuff. If you have a Ph.D. and are looking to pivot in your career, you need this book. It lays out a tactical, strategic blueprint, allowing you to move ahead confidently. If you are reading the reviews unsure if this is the right book for you, take this one as a sign to go for it. I sincerely enjoyed reading this book. It gave me answers, it helped me to see my traits as a trained professional in a prism of industry vision. The book certainly worked as a therapy, it heals. I felt understood and valued , I felt exactly as the author described , I made exact same mistakes as it described in the book. It was amazing to realized that there is way for a transformation of my career. I appreciate this work! Thank you!

First- the book, this advice is worthless. The "references" are websites from ten years ago. Any PhD should know those are not authoritative source references. The suggestions are not helpful to anyone. Second- the company is a group of con artists who take thousands of dollars from people and provide no service whatsoever. Don't be fooled and stay away. Check the BBB- they are non-accredited and have dozens of complaints.

I am still making my way through the book, but so far there is a lot of really great advice that I am planning to implement.
Simply the best....
Although i bought on release day as e-book, I wanted also a physical copy. It is just the best gift a PhD holder can do to him/her self. Excellent analysis on PhD imposter syndrome and a gazillion other reasons NOT to study in academia. Very good planning on how to increase your chances on getting the best industry job someone deserves, after all the hard time as a PhD student. If you haven't bought it already, now is your chance. Isaiah wrote the ultimate guide and surely it will help everybody.
A must read!
I would recommend this book anyday to a PhD, who is struggling during or after PhD to get hired in industry. The author has given insights into his journey, through and after PhD, which is comforting to read as in general you don't feel alone in this arduous journey. Regarding the steps to get hired an excellent template is introduced and each step is very well explained and made so simple to navigate. The book is one of a kind and touches a very important aspect: to grow during and after PhD, which is the strongest point of this book. I enjoyed reading it and will keep reading it time to time.
