Invincible Volume 15: Get Smart

Description:

Mark Grayson finds himself at a crossroads: Is fighting battles head-on always the best solution to the world's greatest threats, or is there a better way? From visionary creators Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Cory Walker (Science Dog), and Ryan Ottley (Amazing Spider-Man).

About the Author

First and foremost a comic creator, Kirkman has seen groundbreaking success in the adaptation of his comic book titles into major franchises in all forms of content. In 2010, his Eisner award winning series, The Walking Dead, was developed into an AMC television series. It has become a worldwide phenomenon as the highest-rated basic cable drama of all time. The property has also been extended into a blockbuster game franchise, licensing business and ongoing publishing success.

Additional Kirkman comics include Oblivion Song, Die!Die!Die!, Invincible, Outcast, Super Dinosaur, Battle Pope, Astounding Wolf-Man, and Thief of Thieves.

Kirkman also serves as consulting producer of The Talking Dead, the popular talk show hosted by Chris Hardwick that deep dives into each week’s episode of both The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead. Kirkman is co-creator, writer and producer of The Walking Dead’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead.

He is also executive producer of the AMC series Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics, and the Korean pre-apocalyptic drama, Five Year. Kirkman’s popular demonic-exorcism comic, Outcast, was adapted and produced for Cinemax. His second longest running coming book series Invincible is currently being adapted for a live action movie for Universal and an animated series for Amazon. Kirkman will serve as Executive Producer on both adaptations.

Robert is also the Chairman of Skybound Entertainment. Robert, an advocate for creator rights, co-founded Skybound alongside his longtime business and producing partner David Alpert in an effort to ensure creators are able to maintain their intellectual property rights and creative control.

Ryan Ottley is a Utah based artist currently working on Invincible for Image Comics. He was the Artist and co-creator of the webcomic strip Ted Noodleman: Bicycle Delivery Boy, and it was through this webstrip that Robert Kirkman first encountered Ottley's work and then offered him the job of penciling Invincible. He has done work for Digital Webbing, Alias Entertainment, Devil's Due, DC, Image And Ape Entertainment.

Best volume yet!

j. · November 15, 2020

I’m not certain if it’s because I’ve taken a few months break from the rapid pace I was reading Invincible but this volume was amazing. Probably the best volume yet though that is a very tough competition. All things considered, this volume was much more muted than other volumes and felt like a reboot of some kind after the war but the growth and insight within Mark is outstanding. Truly something that feels earned and deliberate versus a cheap twist.

Great comic.

An excicting new direction? I certianly hope so

It took me a little bit longer than normal to order this volume of "Invincible" because I disliked the anticlimax of the Viltrumite War, I should have had more faith in Bob Kirkman as he proves once again that this title has more depth in it than your average Superhero comic.A major event shakes Marks confidence and he is left pondering the question of how effective he truly is at defending the helpless, he comes to a decision that will shock some but certainly not all "Invincible" fans out there. If you have been with the series this long be sure to pick up this volume as this new development and storyline promises a fresh wave of intensity and excitement that I have found missing for the last 30 issues or so.

If you don't get this you're just missing out it's an amazing story

Grownup characters means grownup issues (pun not intended)

J.L.G. · July 26, 2018

4.5 starsIt is inevitable that things should grow and change after the events of the Viltrumite War. This collection of issues certainly had a lot of "I didn't see that coming!" moments. Mark and Eve are growing up, which means grown-up issues, from the "mundane" (Mark's reaction was good and supportive) to "only in a superhero book" (poor Las Vegas). It's official -- Dinosaurus is one of my favorite characters, especially since his villainy is up for debate. If Mark has to explore shades of gray, it's only fair that his conflicts get more subtle. And Dinosaurus is a delightfully conflicted villain. But it's not just all about Mark and Eve, these days. Robot and Monster Girl are back! Moments with them are interspersed through this collection in a fantastic build-up, hinting about what we missed between them. Definitely reason alone to keep reading. But seriously, Mark: Stop going in the white room!
