As an avid gardener, I really enjoyed "Peony". First, the organization of the book is excellent. Up front, peony plant selection, planting, on-going maintenance and garden design are covered in detail. Next, detailed profiles of 50+ peony hybrids are presented, including beautiful, sharp color photos and plant-specific growth habits. The master hybridizer and gardener experiences of the authors is evident throughout the book.This book has a ton of information but is not a dry, horticultural text book. The writing is succinct and keeps the reader moving, and the garden design ideas and peony photos inspire the reader to find a spot for peonies in his or her garden. I will come back to it year after year for more ideas. If you are going to buy one book on peonies, this is it.

You can’t resist this one if you love peonies. For those of us who goes the extra… to learn more about my peonies and the individual problems I have whether to wet or to dry or mostly the bugs the bug them. Easy to read book, well put together. Awesome photography. I bought it because I recently became friends of one of the gardeners who had some of his pictures published in the book. This book is an awesome display of the many many varieties of Peonies....of which I never knew there were so many. They surpass roses!

Very pretty book. Not a lot of detail about history or horticulture. I wish there were more varieties and more details like “ this variety is tolerant of more shade or heating how one coral variety compares to the others, for example. That said, probably no one could get all the details I would like I to one book. I noticed almost none of the varieties specifically sold by Klehm Song Sparrow (one of the best online sources for peoples),

One of the the better book's I've read on peony's, all the older peony verity's are listed, easy to read and understand, soil types, watering, growing in pots everything you need to know about growing them.
