5.0 out of 5 stars Phonics for kindergarten
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is a great workbook. It is for kindergarten, and comes with gold stars to use. It also has great illustrations. It's easy to follow. Plus a great price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool for beginner readers
Great for kids just beginning to read. It was much better than most other workbooks ( it actually has some great phonics pages), as well as CVC etc. It is smaller than the standard paper ( 8.5”x11”), but I found this helpful for my child since it is easier to handle for small hands.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
Love this workbook! Perfect for preschoolers. Pages are a bit on the smaller size so if you're making copies to reuse the booklet, it's trickier to get it lined up on the scanner. But the activities are great and varied! There'd about 2 per consonant sound and then at the back of the book, vowels. So it's not necessarily in alphabet order.
4.0 out of 5 stars Small tool that makes a difference.
Very easy to use and colorful cute pictures throughout. I use this book to help my daughter with the sounds of consonants and vowels especially in hearing the sounds and saying them.It's not as big or thick as other workbooks but it has enough to work on without overexerting the child. I also make it last by having her use centimeter cubes on the images to give her answer so when she gets them wrong I know to work on it again later on to see if she has improved. On the parts that she has to write, well I use a small hand held chalkboard for that. It has answer key and stickers and even a progress chart. It has 60 pages. It covers the consonants in the beginning and towards the end it only covers the short vowels.I gave it a 4 star since it only covers the short vowels and hard c and g.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good book
So, this was more for me as I wasn't sure how to teach phonics and it helped me. I could read early and couldn't remember how I did it, so in order to help others, I got the book. Of course, learning to talk, read and write take years of schooling, but this is a help in those early years when learning the alphabet.
5.0 out of 5 stars repetitive activities that improve basic vocabulary and spelling skills...
I bought this book for my 4 years old son, who is very interested in alphabet activities. In the daycare, they do a lot of similar exercises and at home he wants to practice some more. For that purpose, this is a really good book. It starts from A and goes through all letters of alphabet.For each letter there are 2 pages of activities: one requires the child to find all the objects that start with that letter among a group of objects and the other one finding the only object in a group of three that begins with that letter.After every 10 pages or so there is a general activity page where small pictures are accompanied with three letters and the kid is required to find the correct letter that the object in the picture starts with. These pages cover all the letters up to that point.The last pages, after all the letters are covered, are another group of activities which require finding the middle missing letter or recognizing the whole word among similar ones. This require more skill than the first set of activities and therefore a kindergarten student would do it better.The pictures are repeated a few times for different activities and this ensures the child to build some new vocabulary. For example my son did not know the word 'can' as in canned food and after I told him and he came across a few more times he was easily noticing it. The pictures are mostly clear and easy to recognize. There are some ambiguities but those are really limited.Finally the book offers 140 stickers and a completion chart. The idea is that for each activity a sticker needs to be put on the corresponding page number on that chart. Good luck if you manage to get them used that way. My son had already sticked half the stickers randomly by the time I first handled the book, kids just don't stop when they handle stickers :)In conclusion, this is a really useful basic practice book. Perhaps it might have offered a wider range of activities but there is no harm being plain and simple as well. I liked the book and my son spends a good amount of time with it. For less than $4 it is a real bargain
5.0 out of 5 stars Great use
Great use for pre teaching my kindergarten
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing workbook
My daughter is on the spectrum and is academically advanced but relaying and teaching how to go about exercises is hard. Once I came across this workbook I found it easy to relay/teach the instructions to her. She finished this work book in a week. We loved it!

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } 全てに絵がついています。
