5.0 out of 5 stars best book for day trading I've read

K. · December 23, 2023

I've read a dozen other books on swing and day trading. I paid hundreds of dollars for a terrific trading course that delivered as promised. This is much better than the course I took, much better than the other books.I've been trading full time for 2 1/2 years, sad to say that I've been losing money. I 'm now showing a more consistent profit, small as it may be. I feel more in control and less emotional. That started happening about a fifth of the way into Toni Turner's book.A great beginner's book but I think it's a great read for intermediate traders too. My other favorite books are Trading in the Zone, Best Loser Wins, Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. As much as I enjoyed and benefited by those books, I would only highly encourage reading Trading in the Zone and this book, and I would recommend starting with this book. A person could read this book and start trading, whereas the other will make you a better trader but won't teach you how to trade. It's not just that the info is good, it's how it's presented. Lots of charts that are easy to read. Her style of teaching gets to the heart of the mindset, actions and expectations of a profitable trader. Each chapter (so far) has a quiz at the end of it. There are inspirational writings, only one page in length, that are very helpful, but a reader can skim past those if they want to get to the more hands on info.If you're brand new to trading, you'll benefit from this book. (There's no need to pay hundreds for a course either, btw.)If you've been trading for some time and struggling, this book might be the answer to ending that struggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book

Great book thank you

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for a beginner, but uses too much cutesy language

O. · January 3, 2024

The author gives some good information for a beginner, but the cutesy language is over the top. I almost stopped reading it as soon as I started. However, I was glad I finished it. As a man it was hard to read at times, I believe the targeted audience was young women who might like the cutesy way she wrote it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Traders or Investors

J.J. · June 22, 2014

I have been following the stock market for over 30 years and have read well over 100 books on investing (although this was the first on trading). I decided to read this book not because I am thinking about trying day trading, but just out of a great interest in the subject. It may sound strange, but this was the first book I have ever read that went into detail about candle stick charts. I have seen these charts for years, but never really knew how to read them. That alone made this book worth reading to me. The author does a wonderful job of explaining these charts, along with several other tools. If you are thinking about day trading as a profession, or if you are already doing that but want to continue learning new ideas, then this is a great starting point. It is well written in an easy to read style. Also, each chapter ends with quizzes that allow you to test how well you are retaining the information you just read. I loved that and found that I was fairly good at answering those questions. If you are an investor interesting in learning more about the nuts and bolts of the stock market, this is also a good starting point for you, because Ms Turner does a great job of explaining in detail how the stock market works. Just remember, this book was written specifically for short term trading, so while much of the material does apply to long term investments, not all of it will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Using this book as a survival manual... no more low-paying jobs for me!

The best book on day-trading and preparing for the work of being a day trader I've found. Have read other books but this one sets the standard! She is clear, concise, and "to the point" on her descriptions on the mental and emotional requirements of becoming a successful day trader. I found out that I made many mistakes because I just didn't know about how to approach day-trading effectively and prudently. Her book cuts past the theory and (ultra-expensive courses out there) the market rhetoric and takes you by the hand on reading the indicators, knowing the difference between Level I & II software systems. Nothing is left to chance in understanding how to become a successful day trader. I also ordered the second book as I was very impressed with the wealth of information (and shared experiences) that she puts out.Her writing style is clear and easy-to-understand. I'm preparing to day trade soon as I want to prepare for retirement down the road. In addition, will not be looking for another job should my present one be eliminated or go away. Just stay home and day trade! Read this book as if your next paycheck depends on it and you'll succeed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, learn a few things, beginners guide is perfect name for it.

O. · June 27, 2013

Comes across in the wording as a little more authoritative than it should. Teaching stock trading especially to new people should been done in such a way that does not sound like each idea is gospel. Good, but if you are totally new take it all with a grain of salt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still working through, but amazing book thus far!

B. · June 5, 2024

I am on a personal journey to learn the art of day-trading. I am working through the content of this book and so far I really appreciate the heart that the author put into this book. The author clearly cares about teaching her audience to avoid common mistakes & pitfalls for the novice trader. The tone and writing style is very conversational and while there are a ton of words on each page (smaller print & packed with content), the length and density of text does NOT feel dull or boring. There is a whole lot to learn when becoming a trader and this book is a great start for anyone aspiring to trade as a career or hobby. I would recommend this book to anyone regardless of experience level. I would recommend this book especially if you are interested in learning to trade or invest in the stock market.

Brilliant stuff - Leant a Lot !

Amazing book for beginner day traders ! It has all the stock market ingredients for a new comer in to the trade ! I am lucky that I read this prior to venturing into trading with real money, and I am organizing 'my stock trading battle' exactly the same way this book recommends me to.

I've never read a book teaching intraday in my trading career, that was as informative as this one. Thank you author Toni Turner for your in-depth analysis of the day trading. This book taught me how to approach the market, psychologically, fundamentally and technically as well. I'm reading again and again. I strongly recommend this book for those who wish to learn and earn in swing and intraday.

I like so much the style of the author. It's a very easy to follow reading with funny jokes, useful advices, perfect explanations (which reflect the mastering of the author), and a great source of experience. The title is exactly what it say: a guide (all what you need, literally) for beginning (or, if you already started I think it would useful to revise what you might have missed).
