Michael Dubruiel's "A Pocket Guide To The Mass" may be small in size, but it speaks volumes. This little booklet of less than eighty pages takes the lifelong Catholic, the convert, and the uninitiated first-time visitor on a step-by-step journey through the Mass. First, Dubruiel explains why Catholics call this celebration "Mass." Then he goes on to explain each individual prayer, action and gesture as it occurs in the ceremony. From the moment you enter the church to the concluding rites, Dubruiel covers each step briefly but with a clear explanation as to what and why things happen.The booklet ends with a brief comparison of the Mass to the journey on the road to Emmaus.For converts like myself, this booklet only adds to my growth as a Catholic. For cradle Catholics, I'm sure this book reveals things that they may have never known. For people visiting or looking into the Catholic Church for the first time, they can literally follow along with the Mass in this booklet. I highly recommend it.

this is a great book for any one who desires to learn more about the holy mass, especially for a new convert. I actually bought it for myself and found out it would yield more fruit to a new convert. i happen to meet someone who is interested in the catholic faith. I gave the book to him and he is very happy about it. He said me, after reading this book i now understand what happens at the Holy Mass, I see myself now as a participant at Mass not a spectator anymore. Now I appreciate what happens at Mass. I am totally thrilled by these words.

this is a great book for any one who desires to learn more about the holy mass, especially for a new convert.
