Good book on the gospels. Easy to read and understand

I chose this rating because it's exactly what I was looking for.I like that it has all four Gospels in one book. I recommend it to anyone who is a new Christian, and getting to know Jesus.

Like I wrote: good but not great. I’m glad I bought it. Christians should have more than one bible anyway. We don’t learn with blinders on. But the casualness of the written language in this book often misses the specific and deeper meaning in the original language.

I think this will give people a good introduction to what Jesus actually taught as opposed to what his later followers made into dogma.I bought this edition because under the headings they put the parallel reference in the other gospels, making it easy to harmonize between the four. I am doing a study where I need to see what material was unique to each writer and what shared. I wish this reference practice was more common in bibles (without making us look at microscopic references at the bottom of the page.)It uses the Contemporary English Version, which is a new translation. So if you are new to Jesus' thought and want to understand what he taught without the "thees and thous" and without buying a thick book full of a lot of other material then this book will be a great start.

Beautiful. Very easy to read. I absolutely love it. I've read a few other Gospels but this is so easy. I've only read half of it so far. I was thinking of buying another one.
