Highly recommend this book. Possessive, obsessive MMC. Slow burn with a bit of spice. Lots of backstory and underlying questions to go into the next book!!The best friend side character is hilarious with the best one liners. Such good banter!!Heading right into book 2!!

Intense relationship here.Borders on unbelievable ... but just toes the edge.I love the cliffhangar ending and am ready for book 2 of this duology.I do have a few questions plot wise, but... this is clearly meant to be a fun read to spice up life and not a work of literary mastery so I'll play blind👩🦯 and ignore that a man with such impulse control issues is more likely to be in jail than to be a prosecutor, that he should have done more research before killing her dad, and that it's highly unlikely that the Calista would be so destitute after her father's death. It's also unlikely that every single person he assaulted doesn't press charges and also unlikely that any of his antics weren't recorded on someone's phone and uploaded to the internet... costing him his job.But.. I ignore it all and enjoyed it for what exactly this book was.... a smutty good time.My husband loved this book too and he didn't read it. Lol.

This would be a much better book if it wasn't so repetitive. It would have been better at 200 pages. I did enjoy the story enough to get the 2nd book. It is definitely a vibes read.

First, let me say - I am the slowest reader, but I finished this book in a couple of days. I ordered it on impulse, without knowing anything about it, looking at recommendations for “spicy thrillers.” Once You’re Mine DID NOT DISAPPOINT!The spice is more explicit in nature, but that’s right up my alley! (I don’t want any of that “suggestive spice.) It is written in first person - DUAL POV, which I also loved! The author wrote this book in such a way that it was easy to ready, storyline easy to follow, and it’ll leave you dying for just one more page (or hopping on Bolo to order the second book within seconds of finishing the first!) If you’re looking for an extra spicy thriller - this is it!(Trigger Warning: this book could be triggering for some readers depending on where they are in their healing journey.)

This is easily 3.5 stars. The cliff hanger at the end *chefs kiss* You can feel the intensity between Callie and Hayden, but for me the real favorite is definitely Harper.The book, for me, starts off a little slow. It's a fast read but how Hayden talks in the beginning made me feel a little bored. Hayden is obviously intelligent. The way the author has him speak definitely portrays that side. It does get better throughout the book.Callie, or Calista, is a sweet girl who's lost her father. She went from being the pampered but kind senators daughter, to a very penniless woman struggling to survive. She has little to no confidence and has severe anxiety.I'd say that between the spice and the plot it's not bad. There are times it felt smut heavy but it followed along with the plot so it worked.Reasons it's not a 4 for me is there are a few editing mistakes in the book. Nothing terrible, a mispelling, a word that didn't make since in the sentence. Those kind of things. It's not mistake heavy but I noticed a few.I'm usually a little apprehensive about these types of books. The super obsessed ones, but this one wasn't terrible. I read this due to my old co workers starting a book group and inviting me to join. I'm glad I read it. Is it one I'll buy the physical copy of? I'm not sure. If I enjoy the second book in this series I'll probably pick it up.Reading this pros: there were times I laughed, times I felt the butterflies with Callie, times my chest hurt from understanding the pain she felt. I loved how Harper had a new name for Hayden everytime she talked about him. The author did a good job of trying to keep the book both smutty and interesting.I'm always a tad apprehensive about this genre only because obviously this is red flag behavior. Super fun to read and pretend that this is ok but totally different if this were to happen to anyone in real life. I think that's why this particular genre struggles to get a higher rating solely because women are nervous someone might read this and think it's ok. Obviously not the authors fault, reading is subjective.This may not be a book for you and that's ok. At the end of the day I'll read anything once! On to book 2!
Good condition
The condition of the book came pristine throughout (spine, edges flawless). Theres no annoying stickers whatsoever on the book cover itself (inside or out) (i plastic wrapped mine for longevity).
I still have questions???
This book has a great story line, an it got me intrigued. I Still have Questions that need answers. Off to read book 2.

The book's quality is great, with good pages and an engaging story. It's a well-rounded package. If you're a fan of dark romance and thrillers, don't hesitate - give it a try
Loved it, but..
Even as a German, this book is good to read and easy to understand (if you know English). However, it was quite difficult (for me personally) to get into the book and establish a connection with the characters. The processes went very fast and some things came super suddenly. But when I got used to the writing style and the characters, I couldn't put the book down.
