This book was born out of a long career researching and teaching about supply chains - and a fortunate opportunity to do a sabbatical in Vietnam. From a visit to VinUniversity in Vietnam an idea to write a book about the vast changes in the automotive industry was born.

Elon Musk; Mary Barra (CEO of GM); Pham Nat Vuong, founder of VinFast; Jim DeLuca, who has had leading roles at GM, VinFast, and Ceer; and Rob Hanson, cofounder of Monolith. I’ve just received and read through the EV Revolution – It is fascinating. The connections to history and current events in business and politics, details thoughtfully mined from those with a hand on the pulse of this industry, nuanced tales I had only a cursory knowledge of prior to this text. A joy to read and something I’d recommend for anyone interested in the interplay of environmental concerns, technology and motivations of the automotive industry.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this well-researched and documented book. The way in which the author blends relevant historical references and, frankly, eye-popping statistics, took me on entertaining and informative journey, helping to explain where we are today and what the roadmap for the future may be.I was struck by the complexities around the “Gears of Change” that were outlined in an easy-to-understand way and, as a person in the logistics and supply chain industry, I appreciated Ken's supply chain expertise, which is a critical component of the story.I was also impressed by the balance in terms of laying out the positives and the need for this transition while also highlighting the challenges and steps that need to be taken, not just within the automotive industry, but public policy, consumer sentiment, commitment and more.The final chapters are on topics that could become technical topics to explore, but, again, kudos to the author for making this easily digestible and very interesting to read.Highly recommend this book.

His style is a winning combination of teaching and discovery within a framework he calls "The Gears of Change". This unique approach helps the reader form a more objective view of what it takes to be successful in this space.Read this book to meet fascinating people and businesses driving change with a willingness to commit, ability to profit, and transformation of supply chains. Personally, I most enjoyed the story of green-tech startup Monolith. This company has only been around for a decade or so, and is a powerful example of the visionaries leading transformation.

This book gives a fantastic analysis of the complex state of the electric vehicle revolution. It touches on many different aspects of electrification, but to me the most interesting parts were the historical and geopolitical factors that provide an understanding of the major global impact.
