Maurice finds salvation in the form of a stranger named Laura. They develop an unbreakable bond that’s lasts for their lifetime. It’s a wonderful, sometimes sad portrayal of an impoverished young boy who finds happiness in the midst of a deplorable situation.

An Invisible Thread was one of the greatest books I have ever read. You would never stop and think about how one act of kindness could change somebody's life, but it can and does! This book talks all about kindness and shows that one small decision to be kind can make a huge impact on someone. 5 out of 5 stars I totally recommend this amazing story! - Emma, 6th Grade Age 11

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for my students!

L. · February 19, 2021

My middle school students are reading this now, as a class. They’re enjoying it. We are studying autobiographies and biographies. Maurice is just a little younger than my students so they can definitely relate to him. The free Kindle app is a big help as I do not own a nook or kindle. This is ideal for virtual learning. Perfect to share my screen with students and have the book right there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Relatable relationship for ALL

The relationship reminded me of friendships of older adults that were neighbors as I grew up. I learned so much with every visit. I learned the true meaning of love of friendship with every visit. This story was de ja vu on many levels.
