About the Author
Alan Moore is perhaps the most acclaimed writer in the graphic story medium, having garnered countless awards for works such as WATCHMEN, V FOR VENDETTA, SWAMP THING and MIRACLEMAN. He is also the mastermind behind the America's Best Comics line, through which he has created (along with many talented illustrators) THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, PROMETHEA, TOM STRONG, TOMORROW STORIES and TOP TEN. As one of the medium's most important innovators since the early 1980s, Moore has influenced an entire generation of comics creators, and his work continues to inspire an ever-growing audience.
Scottish comics creator Grant Morrison is known as one of the brightest minds in the comics business.
Frank Miller is regarded as one of the most influential and awarded professionals in the entertainment industry today, known for his intense, hard-boiled storytelling and gritty noir aesthetic across comics, graphic novels, and film.
Greg Capullo is a renowned comic book artist, known for his dynamic style and attention to detail. Born in Schenectady, New York, Capullo’s passion for drawing and creating comics began at a young age. He started his career working for smaller publishers before landing a job at Marvel Comics, where he worked on titles such as X-Force and Quasar. He later moved to rival company DC Comics, where he achieved his greatest success as the primary artist for the critically acclaimed Batman series in collaboration with writer Scott Snyder.
Capullo’s distinctive style features bold lines and intricate detail. He has the ability to capture the essence of characters and bring them to life through his illustrations. His work on Batman, in particular, has received widespread critical acclaim, earning him numerous Eisner Awards and cementing his position as one of the top comic book artists in the industry.
In addition to his work on Batman, Capullo has also collaborated with writer Todd McFarlane on the creation of the iconic comic book series, Spawn. Capullo’s artwork on Spawn has garnered high praise and earned him multiple awards, including a Harvey Award. His collaborative work with McFarlane is considered one of the best partnerships in the comic book industry and has continued for many years.
With a career spanning over three decades, Greg Capullo has made an indelible mark on the comic book industry and continues to inspire new generations of artists and fans.
Tony S. Daniel is a comic book writer and artist known for his work on various books for DC Comics, including Teen Titans, Deathstroke, and Batman. His work on Detective Comics earned him a spot as a New York Times Bestselling Writer. He’s also worked on creator-owned titles such as The Tenth, Adrenalynn, F5, and Silke.
Marc Silvestri made history as one of the founding partners of Image comics in 1992. Creator, businessman, savant, writer, teacher, artist... these are only a few of the words that one would associate with Marc. His characters, artwork, and creations have made billions of dollars for Marvel Comics as well as his own company, Top Cow Productions, that he founded in 1992, as a partner of Image Comics. He is well known for his work on iconic Marvel titles such as The X-Men, Wolverine and The Incredible Hulk. As CEO of Top Cow Productions, his mandate was specific; produce the next generation of heroes and do it different than everyone else. Marc masterminded the Top Cow Universe through properties like Cyber Force, Witchblade, and The Darkness. When Hollywood started its love affair with comic book characters in the mid-1990s Marc helped position Top Cow as a vital production company in film and television. In addition to comic books, Marc has acted as Executive Producer in a variety of other media including the Witchblade television series and anime series, the Wanted feature film, the A-Team feature film, and two successful video games based off of The Darkness. Marc‘s much anticipated Batman/Joker team up book for DC comics will no doubt showcase his ongoing commitment to innovate and strive to always evolve as a creator and artist.

At a total cost (with shipping) of ~$40, that's less than $1 per issue. It's rare these days to feel like I truly got a good deal on a purchase, but this is one of those rarities! This is an iconic collection for any comic reader and you'll be hard-pressed to find the same bang for your buck with other collections. With prices going up on everything, this is a bargain and a cost-effective way to get into comics. I hope to continue seeing these sold at an affordable price point and attract more people to jump into appreciating this legendary series.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Graphics
It’s better than I expected it’s beautiful art work! It’s a huge book and is going to be a great gift to my Uncle he will love this book!
5.0 out of 5 stars Magic back in time (Malebolgia!)
For a long time I was looking for an alternative read to a heavy work-reading everyday. This massive volume is great. A refreshing flashback of better years. McFarlane/Capullo’s Spawn seems ever more relevant in today’s reality. For as much as I was looking for a simple distraction and memories from when I was a kid, Spawn’s storyline is impeccably delivered and addresses (subtly) realities about geopolitics and the sacrifices that patriots make, to this day, to advance their countries’ interests (honorable or otherwise). It’s been so much fun to rediscover McFarlane’s magic Spawn universe as an older person, for I have a deeper understanding of a complex story that I enjoyed as a kid because it’s full of action and far-out supernatural twists and turns. At this price, it’s a steal for a full-color compendium. Also, the size is as the original comics I had, so the details are pristine. Printing quality (at least on my copy) is great.Being a 700+ hundred page comic, printed on a budget, you’ll find the binding lacking. Not complaining. Now, it’s worth spending 30 bucks at a local book binding biz. That’s what I’ve done with my Vagabond, BLAME!, GANTZ, and now intend with Spawn. Take your time. Re-reading each volume after binding has been a special experience every time. Think of the bound Akira 6 volume reissue. For me, nothing beats going back to (and invest in) volume re-issues of comics and mangas.Get Spawn while it’s available. Think of how hard it was to get the comics in the 90s because image was a small, independent publisher. Thanks, image and Todd.If you’re young and getting to know Spawn, you’re in for a serious, cool treat. Enjoy! If you’re on the fence about spending (good) money, know that Spawn had contributions by giants like Alan Moore, Greg Capullo, Dave Sim, Marc Silvestri, Grant Morrison, and Frank Miller.
5.0 out of 5 stars quite perfect
It delivered on its promise, I was given access to issues 1-50 of the spawn series. Plus, the value was amazing. It cost roughly 45 dollars, (assuming you buy it new, used it's 30ish dollars) so each issue cost 90 cents. Which is significantly cheaper than any other way of getting the first 50 spawn issues. Additionally, the compendium contains a special issue that isn't found in the spawn volumes. All in all, the best way to read the spawn comics. There was one issue I had with the compendium though, but it's the fault of amazon not the fault of the product or McFarlane comics. When I got the book the spine was cracked. Which, I mean is fine I guess. But it is very irritating.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection
Amazing collection of the first 50 Spawn comics. The colors pop giving the artwork more life.If only they could have included the tie-in comics that spawn is included in. (To give context to why spawn has a shoelace running through his face.)
4.0 out of 5 stars This is a thick comic book
Always been a fan of spawn. I'm hoping one day to get the entire series. But I'm telling you this this is a thick comic book. But it is a good read if you're a spawn fan.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy!
It’s a great buy it’s a great read very vivid very detailed
5.0 out of 5 stars There’s so many issues in this
The only complaint that I have is that there’s no cover art pages for the 50 issues collected in this. That said, the price is incredible and now I can read each issue in order. The paper quality is pretty good, but so far, there seems to be a couple of pages that seem to lack definition and/or fine details. Almost a slight bit low in resolution. I’ve skimmed through future upcoming pages and they seem good, so likely not a recurring problem.I had a concern that this dense and heavy book might be too much for a softback/paperback to hold together, but this was tossed off my bed by my wife and it held up with no sign of distress.I’ve been thoroughly satisfied with the value and immediately placed an order for the 2nd compendium.

Huge fan of Spawn and wanted to get the books as a collected edition, so this was a no-brainer! Arrived in great condition and fast! Thanks so much!
Great Edition of an Awesome Comic
Spawn is an awesome series, and this edition does it justice. The paper's nice and the colors are vibrant, giving those big 2-page splash pages a lot of impact. Recommended if you're a fan, or if you've always wanted to get into the series!
