5.0 out of 5 stars Mark Millar, King of Comics, Strikes Again!
Another instant classic from Mark Millar! How does he do it?
5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you
Absolutely incredible story. I no longer want to be Bruce Wayne. I rather be Edison Crane or rather Professor Edison Crane.I’d love to invest in the live action project if one ever gets developed.
4.0 out of 5 stars If Doc Savage, Buckaroo Banzai and Mister Terrific combined their DNA...
I really enjoyed this comic. A fun (if a bit haphazardly paced) action adventure through the classic Millar lens of over the top insanity, featuring an insanely skilled super-genius with the powers of "knowing all the things", multitasking on superhuman levels and -- when the plot requires -- an uncanny life line to deus ex machina. It's closer to a satire of the super genius/globe trotting adventurer character type. Reed Richards if portrayed with the "cool" factor of Will Smith or Idris Elba.Things move a little abruptly at times, making the plot a bit choppy in places. Character development leans a little closer to basking in our protagonist, Edison Crane's, insane mental and physical abilities, and his aptitude for picking up skills in mere moments. More could have been done in way of layering his character and his allies, who feel more like facilitators for his day to day operations as a world class problem solver.Altogether, I really dig this character and the world/universe he inhabits. Could definitely go for some more.8/10
5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Millar you’ll love this
Mark Millar is a genius and in all the new books he’s releasing under the Netflix umbrella are so amazing!
4.0 out of 5 stars A fun ride with spectacular art!
This is the definition of a fun graphic novel. It’s nothing particularly deep, but it’s one of those crazy sci-fi/supernatural adventures that can only exist in comics. There’s a likable, Sherlock Holmes/James Bond type hero, jet setting around the globe, fighting dark forces intent on destroying our world. I don’t know if I’d give this to a first time comic book reader because I wouldn’t want them to think that this type of story is indicative of the entire medium. However, if you like comics and are looking for fantastic art with a story that’s guaranteed to be a fun ride, pick up this book.
3.0 out of 5 stars Prodigy is ok...
Prodigy is ok. The art is mostly good, although there are some inconsistencies in Edison's (the main character) appearance, as his eyes switch between blue and green, and the texture of his hair seems to change, and his facial features. The story itself is fun, it's Bond-esque and involves missions that span the globe. Edison has a woman sidekick that is forgettable, as I don't recall her name. As a character, Edison is kind of cool, but I feel like something is missing, he needs more identity, like a costume or a specialized weapon, some kind of calling card or something to make him a standout.Trigger Warning / Spoiler Warning:The story is PG-13 until you get to the halfway mark, where there is child enslavement, child murder, and child decapitation. Personally, I think it was a bit much, and the story works better as just a Bond-adjacent and not something so overly violent.
2.0 out of 5 stars As with most Millar….
Great idea, very poor writing that is in no way subtle. It’s no fun. He has so many great ideas for comics but the execution is mid, at best.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice item, but I had to return it.
Nice item, but I had to return it.
Another great comic from the man who started marvel zombies.
Sponsored by Netflix like the common man’s Alan Moore adventure.
O Millar voltou!
Great comic and great service
Great product. Arrived quickly and in excellent condition.
Perfectly not bad
‘Man who can do anything and is the best does anything and is the best. But wait? Has someone fooled him? NO! Because he can do anything and is the best.’Excellent art and a good yarn, felt like MM had crammed too much in and left a lot unexplored BUT had me doing the ‘smile and reread’ enough as I went through. Read it. It’s absolutely OK… but not Nemesis which is 6 stars.
An average read
I have enjoyed most of Mark Millar’s previous work but I found this particular story to be quite mediocre. Not terrible but definitely nothing special.
