This story presents character and discipleship (or lack thereof) from the prideful to the humble. The reader can see the good and bad, the lost and the found, the weak and the strong, the sincere and the insincere. The Atonement of Jesus Christ, the trust, mercy, and forgiveness is felt strongly in this story. I read it to see what moved Ronald Reagan to say it influenced him. Now I know. Great read.

My kids enjoyed reading this book, they said it was interesting, educational, and all three of them continued reading after school was done until they finished because they enjoyed it so much.

I purchased this book after watching the movie "Reagan". I was curious as to why this book had such a big impact on his life. It's an excellent read and I would recommend checking it out if you are a reader. Worth the time. It was not what I was expecting but it was good. Very interesting. Human interest story.

Timeless theme of true Christianity versus religion. Do we practice what we preach? This book was hard for me to start with all the colloquial verbiage at the beginning, but I was truly glad to have read it. It was quite convicting at times regarding my responses and tendencies to be judgemental. May those who read it be inspired by it as President Reagen was.
