Nice book with lots of B&W pictures. I particulary enjoy seeing UP 4-6-6-4 in running photos. Black and White photographs work well with the subjects.

My husband has been interested in steam trains for most of his adult life so I picked this lovely book up for his enjoyment. Recently, he has been browsing the wonderful pictures in it but mentioned, as he was struggling to read the information in the pages, how disappointing it was to not be able to see the print. He has very good vision, thanks to Lasix surgery some years ago, but the light grey on white text was a very poor choice for readability. I have to ask, "Why?" Seriously, even a darker grey would have made a world of difference and the accompanying information more visible. Enthusiasts love the pictures, but also love the historic information!What a sad waste for this otherwise lovely book that I'd have rated five stars. What were they thinking?

Bought this book for a train buff. The photos are nice, but as others said, the type is EXTREMELY difficult to read. This significantly impacted the enjoyment of this book. I would not recommend it for anyone with less than sharp vision.

My title says it all. The text is light grey and almost impossible to read. I would not have bought this book if I had been aware. Is there a possibility of a refund?
