In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan. Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists.
In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV.
The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan made, ranging from statues and action figures, to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. The author lives in Tokyo, Japan.

The book arrived in perfect condition — the packaging was solid and it came completely sealed, which is something I always look for with special editions. The quality of this Berserk special edition is honestly incredible. The cover, the paper, the artwork… everything feels premium and very well made. The pages are thick, the print is sharp, and the overall presentation does justice to how iconic the series is.If you’re a Berserk fan or you’re collecting the deluxe editions, this one is absolutely worth it. It feels like a collector’s item, not just a regular book. I’m really impressed with how well-made it is, and I’d 100% recommend it to anyone who wants a high-quality edition for their shelf.

I could speak about Berserk for weeks--scratch that, YEARS and always have something new to say about it, so I won't or this will be the longest review in the history of Bolo. Instead, I'll focus this review on this physical book alone.After the massive disrespect Berserk suffered from its 2016-2017 anime adaptation, this Deluxe Edition absolutely makes up for it. The quality is impeccable, the book is huge, sturdy, heavy, and the pages smooth and thick so there's no transparency to them and they're not coming off any time soon. If there ever existed a manga that deserved this fancy oversized treatment, that's Berserk, don't doubt that for a split second. The art has so much heart in it, so much movement and energy, so expressive, and getting to enjoy that in this size and quality is nothing short of mind-blowing. A "parental advisory" and barcode stickers are on the book but they came off easier than a banana peel and left no trace of glue whatsoever. Make no mistake, with the price on Bolo during the preorders sitting around $32 dollars, new readers better go with this edition over the original paperbacks. Not only this is a greater bang for your buck, but you're in fact SAVING MONEY since each of the original volumes is about $15 each. So the money that would get you two of those volumes can get you this instead, that's one more volume in spectacular quality.I bought the original volumes up to the most recent one (39) and after checking out the Deluxe Edition at my local B&N I was instantly convinced: old fans shouldn't think twice before re-buying the whole series in this new format. At the pace at which is comes out, I really don't think you can't reserve $35 each roughly 3 months (volume 1 came out on March, this one on July, and the next one will be out in November), so reserving 10 dollars a month is a joke. A child could do it with their parents' allowance!So, there's no excuse to not go for a next-level way of enjoying such an epic story presented with such amazing artwork. I can't shill this book enough!That said, I could say I got one grievance with it, and only one: pages that are supposed to be full-color are B&W (see my first image of it), so this comes close to perfection but it's not quite there. But since color pages are so few and far in between, and there's so much more good to this, I can overlook it. At least the original covers are printed in full color toward the end of the book.So only two things should ever stop you from getting this: you're too young and/or faint of heart.

The book is in excellent condition and an excellent product overall.However, since the product description does not list the chapters in the book (a crucial detail for anyone interested in purchasing this edition) it is very easy to order the wrong volume mistakenly.My only issue with this listing is that the product descriptions should include a chapter list so customers can be better informed when making a purchase.
