“Filled with luscious detail of the Titanic’s maiden voyage and spot on depictions of its many passengers, from the grand to the ridiculous. I felt an immediate empathy for the three young women whose life choices are challenged in the most unimaginable way. With the Titanic’s fate looming, Huber’s compelling narrative propelled me through the story, absolutely riveting until the very last page!” —Shelley Noble, New York Times Bestselling author of The Tiffany Girls
“Vibrant personalities collide on board a ship bound for certain disaster in [this] heartbreaking and ultimately hopeful story of a real-life Canadian family traveling on board the Titanic. Vividly detailed and painstakingly researched, SISTERS OF FORTUNE threads fact and fiction into a compelling story.” —Bryn Turnbull, author of The Paris Deception and The Woman Before Wallis
"Set against the heartbreaking grandeur of the Titanic’s fateful maiden voyage, Anna Lee Huber’s Sisters of Fortune is a beautifully-crafted—and ultimately uplifting—tale of three young women struggling with the personal complexities of love, loyalty and family as their world is about to change forever." —Andrea Penrose, nationally bestselling author of The Diamond of London
"Just finished...and LOVED IT. Historically rich and powerfully eloquent, Sisters of Fortune is an elegantly told tale of three strong and wholly unique Canadian sisters whose lives are changed forever during an ill-fated voyage on the Titanic. Anna Lee Huber’s writing is masterful, conjuring both the hopefulness and the tragedy of the past with profound sensitivity. The fate of the doomed luxury liner may be a foregone conclusion, but that doesn’t hinder the suspense of the story. I was held spellbound until the very last page. A spectacular read!" —Mimi Matthews, USA Today Bestselling Author of The Siren of Sussex
"I loved it! A fascinating and intimate look at life aboard the Titanic, portraying real people whose lives were so devastatingly impacted. Lush with sumptuous historical details and riveting as the events of that fateful voyage unfurl, readers will love this one!” —Madeline Martin, New York Times Bestselling Author of The Keeper of Hidden Books and The Last Bookshop in London
About the Author

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating, Complex, Heartwarming
This book was intriguing from the very beginning. Any story about the Titanic always grabs attention but this one was so well written with complex characters and plots. The stories are all interwoven so well to create a unique, heartfelt story about three different wealthy sisters and their personal struggles. Of course there is tragedy. What book about Titanic isn't? However, the stories of survival, of women who refused to go on lifeboats without their husbands, saying they had lived together, they would die together are reminders of a devoted love we so seldom find anymore. The author explains that while the Fortune sisters were real, she made adaptations to their histories because very little was truly known about what they did on the ship. This is the first book that I have read by this author but it will be far from my last. Outstanding historical novel!
4.0 out of 5 stars Titanic based Love Story
I enjoyed the book. There are many characters but enjoyable even knowing the Titanic sad story. There are ups and downs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not everyone dies!
A bit boring in the first half, but it all comes together with a better ending than anticipated!
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Historical Fiction!
Wonderfully written book about the Fortune Family from Winnipeg, Canada, on their homeward trip on the Titanic. The details about the voyage leading up to the disaster are exquisite and had me turning the pages, devouring the novel! The Fortune Family is based on a true account of the parents and their four grown children traveling home after a tour of Europe. One of the three daughters' names has been tweaked slightly, and the ending has been changed to reflect the fictional part of the novel, but unfortunately, Titanic still sinks. Beautiful novel!
4.0 out of 5 stars Slow to get into it, but eventually get caught up in the story
I must admit, I struggled to get into this book. I would start it and put it down and then started again repeating this several times. Once it was obvious that something was brewing between flora and chess, I became more interested and I wanted to see what would happen to the two of them when the Titanic meditate. I finally got caught up in the story and by the time the Titanic struck the iceberg I was completely engrossed in it. I was very pleased with the way the story was wrapped up, with the passengers that survived and for the fortune family moving forward.
5.0 out of 5 stars review of sisters of fortune
I am a Titanic “nerd” , so I really enjoyed this book. The main characters (with the exception of Chess) were indeed passengers on the Titanic. The book also illustrates the control of women , the control of parents over their children, and societal control during the early 1900’s. I highly recommend this book for a love story, adventure, and history lesson all rolled into one. It is worth it!
3.0 out of 5 stars a borrowed story
This book was almost hand in glove with the epic movie Titanic. It’s story line is basically the same boy meets girl , finds love etc etc and other than the happy ending for the 2 main characters… it was the same story. Do yourself a favor and watch Titanic the movie…
5.0 out of 5 stars Titanic a voyage to remember
I choose a five. Yes, it was that good. A little slow to start, but its a cutral thing. I had to remind myself as to what decade I was reading. The story line, was entertaining, the drama, heart felt and I enjoyed the way the author described the characters.
A page turner.
An excellent read. Even though we know the ending, the story captivates us. The relationships are complicated and well developed. The story allows us a peek at the high society aboard the Titanic in 1912.
Wonderful story
I've always loved all stories about the Titanic, and this did not disappoint. I recognized a lot of facts from other stories that I've read both true and fictional. I applaud the author on how she wove a fictional character into the story along with factual events.
