He graduated with a Computer Science degree from Daniel Webster College and is pursuing a master’s in computer science with a focus in machine learning from Georgia Tech.
Before becoming an instructor at Coding Temple, he was designing simulators in the video game industry for several years. During that time, he took on a vast number of roles from business to programming that he used to release a total of eleven different titles on PC and co-created an award-winning football card game called “Masters of the Gridiron”.Connor has experience in more than seven different languages and three frameworks. He focuses primarily in Web Development and Data Analytics using Python.

I happen to know the author, because he was my teacher in a programming bootcamp. Regarding his book, the topic selection, pacing, and presentation are all very well thought through. Connor is that rare and wonderful combination of great programmer and great teacher. I highly recommend this book to beginner programmers who want to get the lay of the land. Really a great introduction to modern Python programming.Some background on me -- I currently work as a React/nodejs programmer. Prior to taking the bootcamp Connor taught, I had taken intro programming classes at MIT during grad school, and worked writing and maintaining code as a sort of junior dev at various places. Connor's teaching was invaluable to me.

Excellent book. The book is easy to read and follow. All the source code is accessible on-line.Hope that Connor P. Milliken, the author, will soon write more advanced Python books.

I bought this book because of the high star rating. This book was pretty frustrating, firstly you need to use Jupyter to follow along. I use visual code. Ok, then the code doesn't work because of the code errors. When your trying to learn and have to stop and try to solve why the examples don't work just makes it harder to learn. The book does have good flow as a positive. I got to the end of chap 4 and quit, looking now for a better book. For me a waste of money.

Connor's book has been extremely helpful to explain Python concepts in a simple and effective way and the numerous chapters provide sufficient examples to master them quickly.Highly recommend to read it from cover-to-cover - this is also a good book for handy reference when needed.It assisted in solving few problems for me which other Anaconda and Jupyter Notebook users may find useful too:o Upgrading Python to more recent release in a single environmento Upgrading Anaconda to latest version without an uninstall of prior software and reinstall again - no machine reboot needed when running the Windows OS!o Cleanup of packages and tarballs not being actively used resulting in significant space freed for reuse

Pros: The flow of the material is very good and the weekly format is easy to follow. Each week builds on the last and the Friday projects are a good summary of things learned up to that point.Cons: There are many typos in this book and they get worse the further into the book you read.

I have read this book when I got from the library. After 1st chapter, I understood I need to buy this. Great book for beginners.
Great book for someone new to Python.
So I came to this with experience in Fortran, Qbasic and C found it to be a great introduction to Python. It covers just about every important bit at least least likely. Does not go to too much depth on some things and doesn't discuss many libraries, but is absolutely fantastic for getting started.
