First time reading Tom Ang’s book. I love it. It’s a pretty book, and informational. If you are starting to learn about the history of photography, techniques, etc. this is a must. Highly recommended

I liked that there were photographers of color and women listed in the beginning. So many history of photo books cater to the Caucasian version of photo history that all others are ignored. Glad there are books like this one that are changing the narrative.

Not what I was thinking. Very small book. At the same price almost, I could have gotten the. Vogue book. I’m a photographer and this just fell between the f stops for me. No pics really. If you took art history in college don’t bother buying. Honestly some photos weren’t eh(but art is an opinion).
Ideal gift for photography fan
Bought as gift and looks really good

TOM ANGさんのPHOTOGRAPHY：Definitive Visual Historyは写真やカメラの歴史を学べると認識していますが、この本では歴史やアート、メカニカル面を含めた基礎・基本を英語や写真の初心者でも図や写真を見ながら学べます。雰囲気的な印象かも知れませんが、写真が面白く楽しくなります。いたずらに網羅的にならずテクニック面に走らず、写真の基礎基本を楽しく学べます。もう少し歴史に触れたい場合は前著も面白そうです。
