This History Encyclopedia is absolutely gorgeous! Made for children, it could easily be a "coffee table book" in any living room. The pages are large and full color. The information is interesting and educational at the same time. It was purchased with 3 other Encyclopedias in this series: Knowledge, Science, and Human Body, for my 10 year old grandson. He is very excited and wants to read them all the time.

I really like the pictures and descriptions in this book. They are interesting and to the point. It is a little hard to read cover to cover, because of the book’s size and scope, but read a little bit at a time or as a reference, this book is quite good.

This has some really good details of a lot of history of civilizations. Anti-evolutionists will have to bite their tongue and try to get past some of the very early pages, but if they can, it is worth it to see the presentation of how a lot of human history and civilizations progressed across the map. For the most part, this was presented in a pretty impartial manner with lots of very good detail, trivia and facts scattered on each page as you make your way through from ancient history and migrations to the current times. All this in typical DK Knowledge book style with plenty of side boxes and notes and full page custom diagrams and pictorials.

We are homeschooling our little girl and decided to purchase this as part of her curriculum. The information within is clear and concise, relating to different time periods and cultures. The illustrations just blew us away; absolutely gorgeous! The illustrations' beauty and relevance make it much easier to teach and absorb knowledge. And we, as parents, are learning in the process as well.

The book is good, its good for kids, but the book itself is broken on edge, I think supplier is bad and doesn't know how to keep these books, All books from this publisher are broken.I'd avoid it for now

As you've never seen it before
It is without any reservation that I give this a stellar review. The construction of the book and organization of the material is ingenious. It does present the reader with a succinct overview of the human history in a very concise manner. This is a not a history book focusing on a particular epoch or geopolitical region, but an effort that attempts to, and succeeds to, capture the essentials of the story of the Humans - that of conflicts, cruelty, humanity and intellectual excellence. It is indeed a remarkable volume, one of its kind, and highly recommended for both adults and children.
