Just being in High-school is horrifying enough and Cesare honors that in this novel. He generates his scares by twisting the social dynamics of stressed teenagers to the breaking point. It a relatable and nuanced twist to the high-school horror genre, very in touch with the modern teenage landscapes, making it all the more scary for how close to reality this book truly comes.

I have been a fan of Adam Cesare since all of the Clown in a Cornfield books and I was really wondering how I would like something different. Well, I was absolutely not disappointed!! Adam Cesare has a way of hooking you into his stories from page one and holding your interest until the very last page. I know that I will read every book h to at he writes and I will display those books proudly on my shelves.

This book doesn't disappoint. And who ever heard of waiting for the mind games and terror to start?I loved reading this book and may have lost a few hours of sleep... It's an action packed, thriller that follows a group to high school kids and show just how dangerous social media can be.

Honestly, this entire story was giving young Patrick Bateman vibes. A very good story up to the end.

Adam Cesare has penned a keeps-you-up-all night YA thriller. Every character in Influencer feels three-dimensional. And the twists and turns had me coming back to the book at my first best opportunity. I sincerely hope this gers turned into a movie. I'd watch it for sure.

Aaron Fortin, a new student and secret online influencer, arrives in town with a flashy and captivating persona. Crystal, part of a misfit group, senses his insincerity. As Aaron's true nature is revealed, he targets Crystal and manipulates her friends. Crystal must decide whether to protect her friends or succumb to Aaron's influence.I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley and this is my voluntary and unbiased review. It is currently available on Audible only, but is being released in October in physical and digital format.I requested this ARC because I absolutely love Adam Cesare's Clown in a Cornfield series, and will be reading the third one soon! Something I love about his writing is that he is not afraid to make YA gory, which is something I look for in thrillers. The opening scene of this book hooked me right away!! YA can be frustrating to read at times because the characters, teenagers mainly, are stupid. I did find there to be too much boring friendship dynamics for the first third of this book that probably could've been pared down. However, the premise of this was really fun and it was also a topical look at the power of social media in 2024.
Loved it!
I find all of Adam's books to be extremely fun!
