I'm surprised more people didn't give this book a 5 star review. I thought I had picked up all the Tilda books but somehow this one escaped my notice until recently. If you are looking for nautical inspired decorating ideas which I was, this book is full of really great ideas and inspiration. Also, the photo styling and photography is outstanding, more like an interior design book. I only wish I could find Tilda fabric for these projects here in the States with their muted grays, aquas etc. Here is a list of some of the projects with directions from the book: the 3 different sized whales you see on the photo, a sea urchin decorative pin cushion, a floating jelly fish to hang from the ceiling, a Tilda doll with cute bangs, and a sun dress with directions for a knitted cardigan, totally adorable popsicle pin cushions, a wall hanging (on the cover) and some pretty sea shell fabric/crochet flowers with pearl centers. The dress for this doll is a little plain for my taste, but these dolls are so easy to alter, you could dress her using patterns from any of the other Tilda books to dress her any way you like, the real bonus was the knitted sweater that I have not seen before. You could also take the dress pattern up a notch by embellishing it quite a bit, ie. adding a pocket fussy cut from some cute nautical themed fabric, adding several rows of lace around the bottom edge of the dress etc. I don't know why but these dolls are hugely popular in Russia, I have found the very best You Tube tutorials for making Tolda Doll Hair from Russian You Tube videos. If you've ever owned a Tilda book before, you will already know, the English language translation is not that great. I literally had to take a class to make my first Tilda doll as I had never made a fabric doll before and I wasn't able to figure it out myself with the directions in the book. Once you learn how to make one, all the others are made with very similar techniques so even if the directions aren't that great, you get the main idea of what needs to be done from the photos and limited directions that aren't in the best English. Please do not photocopy and upload the patterns from the books to pinterest. I've seen so many of them up there and its a major copy right violation and also takes away from Tone's ability to make a living from making these books which I really hope to see many more of in the future.

I've long been a Tilda fan. This is probably my favorite book as we are huge beach fans. I've made several of the items in the book already. Probably the only real change I would make is having full size patterns included. I really hate having to enlarged them. Would love to see the reduced patterns included as they currently are (in case full size are lost) and a package of full sized ones included. I'd be happy to pay a little more off the book...
