5.0 out of 5 stars Cat Lover

My granddaughter loves cats, so I purchased this book for her. She gets it out of the bookcase every time she comes over and wants me to read it with her. She loves looking at all the different cats.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 year old can reda it all by herself !

Im doing tbe teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons book with my 4 year old. Were over half theough it so we started her in real books to see how she does. this book is recommended in the backnof the 100 book and she can read it all by herself !Plus its very repetitious good for toddlers learming to speak !

5.0 out of 5 stars another of my toddlers favorites-so much to learn about felines

A.C. · June 17, 2007

This book is adorable. Yes the words are very simple (I have pretty much memorized it). However, the illustrations show so much more of the story. We talk about all the different cats (lion, bobcat, mountain lion, leopard, panther, cheetah, tiger, long haired domestic (probably Persian), and his cat is a short haired domestic gray tiger (like ours is) with 6 kittens (which we like to count)) We also talk about the other animals in the book (horse, donkey, camel, squirrel, etc). And we do the signs for "cat" and "bird". We also sometimes talk about the people in the book. She loves looking at the pictures and talking about the "kittys".UPDATE: I wrote this review when my daughter was almost 18 months. Now at 4 she still loves this book. She 'reads' it, knows all the different big cats, and has picked her Halloween costumes from it this year (panther) and last year (cheetah).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book

We love Eric Carle in our house and this was a book I had never seen before. My 2 yr old loves it! He wants us to read it most nights, he really thinks it's quite funny! The repetitive nature of the story I like for language development

5.0 out of 5 stars Can’t go wrong with this book

S.B. · October 4, 2022

I gift this book to all new babies who come to live on my block. It’s cute, simple, artistic and I hope will help them love cats as much as I do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book received on time

M.A.D. · December 21, 2013

Described as used --it was. A book given to a set of sextuplets will be given more wear than most! Eric Carle is their favorite author; buying used makes a book, a week, a reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for beginning readers, but "Teach Your Child To Read" students should skip it.

A.C. · November 19, 2013

For the earliest readers, this is a fun book with a lot of helpful repetition. But if you are considering this purchase because it is on the reading list at the back of the "Teach Your Child to Read" book, I would skip this one. While there are a little over 100 words, only about 10 of them are unique and they offer little, if any, challenge to a child who has a good reading foundation. I'm giving it 5 stars, though, because I think it does what it should as a "pre-level 1" book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost 2 Year Old Loves It

A.W. · April 27, 2021

It's very repetitive yes, but my 22 month old loves it and carries it around with her, handing it to everyone to read to her over and over. It's definitely a good choice for toddlers around my daughter's age.

Another Eric Carle delight!

The question is: "Have you seen my Cat? The slide out answer is, "That's not my cat!" until the last page "That's my cat". The little boy travels around the world asking this question, to Persia, the rainforest, Africa and more. So its a good way of talking about different countries, and the boy's increasing frustration, and the fact he kept on looking and showed persistence! Also the slide-out flaps show different "Big cats" such as Puma, bobcat, panther which are also classified on the last page. For a small, simple book, rich in possibilities and strong on interaction. I am reviewing the small board book version which is about 6" by 5".The usual charming colourful illustrations!Charming. I am an Eric Carle Fan!Other really nice titles:Little Cloud (charming and can be linked with easy art activities)Papa, please get the Moon for me (stunning, very sophisticated)The Very Busy Spider (with a thread which is tactile on each page)The Bad Tempered Ladybird (superb - really funny!)Brown Bear, Brown Bear - lovely for teaching colours. Great version read by Carle himself on You Tube. Search, "Brown Bear Brown Bear Eric Carle"Do you want to be my Friend? About a little mouse - no words, all inferred. From Head to Toe (Imitation, body parts)and not forgetting the one and only, "The Very Busy Caterpillar".There is also a small board book set which concentrates on numbers, colours etc.The CD stories of some of these are invariably lovely, very soothing with fantastic music. Video of the Very Hungry Caterpillar - well worth a look. As is Eric Carle's art website on the internet. There are more but these are the ones I think are superb and loved by children. I have found them instrumental in language and art development.

Libro in inglese ma facilissimo perchè la frase "hai visto il mio gatto" è ripetuta ogni volta che si incontra un' animale. Per questo già al nido può essere sfogliato e si presta ai primi laboratori in lingua inglese.Paola
