I appreciate the clear and attractive formatting, the incorporation of helpful footnotes, Scripture prooftexts, and brief historical context that he provides at the beginning of each creed or confession. This is a must have for anyone who wants to better understand the tenets of the faith! For believers, studying the creeds and confessions devotionally is also a very edifying practice.

The texts presented in this volume are essential for connecting with the historic Christian church. The credal expressions of the early church, presented in this book, form the backbone of Trinitarian theology and are accepted by nearly all Christian denominations. The catechisms are more sectarian, but these are also the legacy of the church.Why do Christians need to read the creeds? Why get this book? The Bible unfolds as a story of one divine revelation after another. The mystery of the Incarnate Son of God took time for followers of Jesus to process and understand. Drilling deep into Scripture, the church councils of the following centuries convened to find ways of expressing exactly what the world had witnessed. The creeds are their carefully, reverently, and accurately worded expressions of Christian faith. The credal contributions to Trinitarian theology cannot be understated - we still hold the same views today. And I find it comforting that the creeds are so widely accepted by the majority of Christian faith groups. Knowing the creeds, which are not long or hard to understand, is knowing your family tree as a Christian.The book itself is beautifully presented. The binding is tight, and everything from the page texture, to font selection, to margins, to the gilt binding has been procured with a high quality reading experience in mind. And it’s so incredibly cheap! The price is amazing for the quality of this book, both its form and contents. Crossway has published a few of these gems over the last few years, and I’ve loved every one so far. You can buy this with confidence, for yourself or for a Christian friend. This is an outstanding gift idea. Well done, Crossway!

Wonderful collection of historic and faithful creeds, statements of faith, and catechisms. Typeface is a treat to read and makes the whole thing feel very holy. I absolutely love the cover. Though I wish they’d release this in a leather version.

This has been the best option for getting Confessions in your library. The Creeds and confessions of the early church have been very helpful in understanding the doctrines of Christianity and the very essence of our faith. Great collection of the creeds and confessions
A great product, the book's built is awesome that you want to read the book. I will say though that I wished other confessions were inside (Savoy Declaration, Helvetic and French Confessions)

Printing error?
Nothing against the contents of this book. I know it might seem a bit nit picky and it might be hard to tell in the pictures but the front image boarder is not aligned like the back one, as you can see on the front cover the image goes on to the crease where the cover folds while the back is not the same. Also the spine is not aligned to center. From the looks of other pictures this doesn’t seem normal.A bit of a let down since I really like the design and it looks great otherwise.
