She is a volunteer at a high-kill shelter in Manhattan and a founding director of the Deja Foundation, devoted to funding the medical care and training costs of dogs rescued from high-kill shelters.

This book is filled with short stories of amazing and varied dogs that have been exceptional. These stories reaffirm: hope healing and the mutual support that happens between human and dog. The book’s pages are sturdy and the many colorful photos keep one’s intrest. This is the second book I have purchased by this author. It’s great to have an uplifting book to share with others! I take it to school to share with teens.
