Review of D. Gray Man Vol 2
This books great I sat down and read the whole thing in an afternoon. Allen's still recovering from his injuries which included damage to his left eye, the one he sees Akuma with. Lavi enters the scene and changes Allen's outlook on things and "people". You never know when an Akuma will appear and wish for your demise. When wearing the uniform you're automatically targeted by all the Akuma in the area. The Earl's making moves in which he's targeting the generals of the order and destroying their Innoncence. He's hunting for THE Innoncence to end all Innocence, literally. The Heart Innocence. Both sides are searching for it in hopes of keeping it out of the other' grasp. In targeting the generals the order sends small groups of three to find the generals and bring them to safety.Generals are harder to find than everyone thought. Since they take orders from people higher than our beloved and completely insane science department at headquarters. They only check in every couple of months or so.In searching for General Cross, took me a second to recognize the name, Allen's former master Allen gets stuck in a small town. The towns people are desperate for help in riding a castle of a vampire. Lavi's instructed to fetch Allen and winds up being tied into the mess Allen's in, literally. The castle belongs to Count Krory who lives with a woman by the name of Elaine.Fighting the vampire and figuring out the mystery behind the whole thing of the vampire and castle is the main plot line for the three books. Krory' tougher than he looks and Allen and Lavi are in for some fun right down to digging up some graves. He he he.What's really perked Allen's interest is the fact that General Cross had been to the village and had "dealt" with Krory. But if the vampire were to act up the village was to look out for men dressed in the same attire, with the black cross. Cross for saw Allen arriving at the village and so now Allen's curious as to why Cross wishes for him to help the people.Elaine's not thrilled by the idea of exorcists in the castle searching and digging around. She even orders the Count, in a sneaky, sensual way, to deal with the exorcists. Upon finding clues around the castle and thinking back to everything that's gone down Allen and Lavi begin to wonder if Krory truly is a vampire? The Clan of Noah's also making advances in destroying the Innoncence until they destroy the heart. Enter Tyki Mikk, a handsome man trying to live a double life and doing so successfully. Even though Allen literally beat the pants off of him in a game of cards. Tyki's very unique and his ability is mesmerizing and pure evil. The orders taking in more and more casualties even an exorcist who was with Kanda in search of Kanda's former master. Things get pretty bad when Allen and his group boards a ship set for the location of Cross by direction of Timcanpy. We find out what happens when an accomodator betrays their Innoncence.Moves are being made by both parties and the 6th volume ends on a drastic cliffhanger. Like all good series it makes you want to read on and on. I can't recall any cuss words but there may be a couple. Gore's a thing with this horror series so don't be surprised. I'm really loving this series!
It Has Its Good and Bad Points
First let me start by saying that I bought this manga at random and have not read anything besides the first volume so don't mind if I am unable to give you the best review. The story revolves around an older teen, mabye young adult with the ability to destroy or purify the demons that are sent for the main antagonist of the story the Gray Earl. The first volume introduces the character and does not really give any real plotline untill the last chapters of the volume, but this is a positive because only enough backround info was given on the main character to make him extremely intresting. There is not really any friend making in the first volume, and don't really expect much romance, but the story is turning out to be great with the foreshadowing of future allies and a bunch of action... enjoy.
Definitely a favorite :)
Imaginatively dark and very cute and funny all at the same time. I love the mechanics of the plot, characters and scenery. So amazingly fun to read!
heard a lot about it, went going into it blind
To my surprise this was actually an insanely good volume as it introduces me something waay darker than I had expected. As for the world it actually feels relatable as death is close to us humans and the fact that the author herself brings in a character to fill our desires is an interesting concept... can't wait to get more into it!
A strong start for the first volume
The pacing of this is story is great and the characters that appear are set up well. I’m impressed that you get so setup/good world building in only the first 7 or so chapters.
A Great Manga.
I love the story, the artwork, everything about it. I cannot wait to order the next volume in the series.
Great Manga
It's a great manga translations are a little uncommonly said but otherwise it's really good.
I was surprised at how much I liked this manga
I was surprised at how much I liked this manga. These are some of the best developed characters I've ever encountered in all the manga I have read. I highly recommend this.
