Kept me riveted throughout the book. Will be reading more of this author's books
4.0 out of 5 stars Good story
I liked the mystery with its twists. This is my first with this author. I found it a bit wordy with unnecessary descriptions. For me, it sometimes got in the way.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great mystery to try to piece together
A bit gruesome but a page turning mystery that holds the reader’s attention — especially in the last 75-100 pages. Don’t expect to put the book down for sleep once you get to the final 100 pages!Several mysteries to unravel in this complicated story. Was there just one murderer? Did that murderer just get out of jail? Were there several murderers? How to they all fit together? What happened to Marlie? Is Marlie the girl who survived or is Kara the girl who survived?By the end, the reader will think that justice has prevailed in the case of the murders. However, all the financial shenanigans are still pending judgment and will never be properly resolved. Finally, not a great holiday read — especially if the prediction is for snow! Find something more festive and enjoy the carols!
3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Crime But Didn’t Like Main Character…
Sadly, this was my first Lisa Jackson book and I had high hopes. I looked at the length and hesitated but figure I’d give her a chance. My biggest struggle (and there were many) was how unappealing the main character Kara was. We have sympathy for her as a child for her horrible ordeal but as an adult she’s a disappointment. There really weren’t any likable characters in the whole story. Marlie’s story was ridiculous and stretched credulity. The story had potential but it just didn’t deliver. Don’t think I’ll be rushing out to get another Lisa Jackson book since this one was just one long muddle. Three stars at best.

Excellent read as always!
I couldn't understand why this book by the always brilliant Lisa Jackson had only four stars, and I still can't. Always, full of interesting characters and intricate plots. Wonderful experience yet again and I can't wait to read her next book whichever comes my way. Thank you Ms Jackson and keep them coming!!!
Great story!
Lisa Jackson is one of my favourite authors. Always a good read.
Such an intense story trying to piece together who’s the killer!
Such a good read! I cried at the end and was truly invested. The only downfall was a lot of repetitive information, making it feel like just filler in the writing but otherwise awesome book!
