Worth it for Naomi Campbell, Beverly Johnson, Pat Cleveland and the always amazing Grace Jones! I immediately ordered an additional copy and sent it to a friend before I even finished looking through mine. This book would sell even more if they listed names of the models in the description. The photos are beautiful and it also tells their stories. Nicely done! This is also a large sized book. OMG, I just landed on Anok Yai! If you know anyone into fashion this is a must as a gift. Iman y'all....it's a little larger than a standard pocket folder in size.

This is an amazing book and well written. I always longed to see faces that looked like mine on magazine covers and to have all of these iconic black models in one book is validating of our beauty, our magic and our impact. I’ve never had a book like this and I’m excited for people to flip through it on my coffee table! Young women are so lucky to be able to have access to this book. It literally can change the way a young black woman sees herself. There are faces I recognized, but didn’t know the names or stories of. It’s a delight!

Absolutely beautiful. Women of color have, until somewhat recently, definitely been vastly overlooked and discounted in the world of fashion/design/modeling. "Supreme Models" highlights not just the more well-known WOC models but also the early trailblazers. It also provides a concise history of those involved in the industry in a manner that is great for those with simply an interest in the subject as well as those with a greater knowledge of it. Great book!!!

This book is timely, important, and beautiful! While representation has improved, we still live in a time when people of color and a certain size aren’t visible in mainstream media. These women broke down barriers, improved visibility, and showed entire generations a wider spectrum of what beauty could be (And is). Marcellas has always been a great storyteller through fashion, and this book demonstrates he can tell a great story with his words too. It’s a beautiful coffee table book, yes... but it’s a really great read too!

I gifted this book to my young niece who lives in another country where this book would not be available. She poses like a model in her pictures and I knew she would like this book. Most of all, I thought it was important that she saw girls who looked like her. I briefly looked at the book before I sent it and it really is impressive. Every Black model under the sun is in this book, some of them I have never even heard of. It truly is a lovely book and I would recommend to aspiring models, fashionistas or anyone interested in this particular industry.

Arrived in protective plastic covering. A beautiful hardcover book perfect for the coffee table and any beauty and fashion lover! Mostly one double page per model. A few models have extra pages with interviews and/or a bit of backstory about them and extra photos. Had my eye on this book for ages and am so happy I bought it - so many beautiful black women in the world of modelling to adore! LOVE it.
