Really good book on networking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Who is this book for? Keep looking….

M. · July 22, 2025

Where to even begin. This book covers a lot of topics very superficially, excludes or barely covers a lot of pertinent networking topics, and it includes a bunch of outdated, thus useless, information. So I am left wondering who would benefit from this book??!From a practical standpoint, nobody. It doesn’t cover any one topic sufficiently, and it excludes most important contemporary Ethernet and tcp/ip networking topics, or barely mentions them. Even a windows network administrator wouldn’t gain anything from this book. I saw the copyright was 2025 so figured it would be up to date and relevant, but felt duped after going through it! I realize dummies books are supposed to be approachable, but come on, this book is mostly irrelevant. This should be in a goodwill bin for $1.50. Keep looking!!!
