5.0 out of 5 stars Great foundation.
I bought this for my American born and bred partner because he kept asking me questions everytime we watched a match. He read it, absorbed it and fancied himself an expert. We went on a cruise during the Cricket World Cup and this man was holding mini seminars with everyone around him, educating them on the nuances of the game. He came home from work one day to let me know that he'd explained the game to his coworkers and persuaded them to watch a match. Now he wants to travel. Major League Cricket, Caribbean Profesional League, The Hundred, you name it he wants to go.This book created a monster. But a well informed one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cricket made easy
This is a great book for learning about the game of cricket. It is broken down in digestible chapters, and I now can talk with my cricket playing relatives in Scotland with some confidence.
5.0 out of 5 stars Respectable sport, here is the way to understanding, and fandom, TRULY !
The players are welcoming, (speaking 2 languages well) I go to matches and if I have questions, I sit with them and they are happy to clarify, the things in this fabulous book, that I am still just not perceiving. Bring a chair, binoculars, and a coffee and enjoy another GREAT sport.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
Very informative for anyone wanting to know the basic rules of Cricket.
Much information, well described.
As a US expat, I thought I have learned cricket over the years. But the chapters describing the details of bowling and batting put paid to those thoughts.Highly recomended.
