My 8-year-old absolutely loves the Press Start! books (Books 1–5). He flew through the first one and couldn’t wait to start the next. The stories are fun, fast-paced, and packed with silly humor and action—perfect for kids who enjoy video games and graphic novels.The illustrations are colorful and engaging, and the text is easy enough for younger readers to follow while still feeling like a “real” chapter book. These books have really helped build my son’s confidence and enthusiasm for reading.If you have a reluctant reader or a kid who loves Mario-style adventures, this set is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be picking up the rest of the series!

Great series for reluctant readers. The bright colors and limited words on each page help make this series early reader friendly (great for 1st or 2nd grade level). The story is engaging for kids because it is about a video game. Fun characters. I used these books to get my son to read, bought them for a friend's son and got the school I work at to purchase a copy for the library.

These scholastic books are so spot on! My son loves to read now because of them! They cater to his interests and are so much better than reading the popular graphic comic novels with all the bad potty humor. I will continue to invest more in these books and continue his fun journey into reading! They are really good for first and second graders who can read but are slowly transitioning into harder chapter books. These give them the perfect motivation with enough difficulty to keep them on their toes. If you kid likes games and you are trying to get them interested books this will give them a boost. The stories are pretty fun to read for their age and enough engagement to keep them coming back for more.

Great books… but double check before opening
Just received this set of books 1-5… however before opening I noticed that I actually received books 2, 2, 3, 4 & 5. Otherwise my son loves this series and they’re an easy read with nice photos.
