About the Author
Steve Ditko (1927 - 2018) began his comics career in the anthologies of the 1950s, where his unique style and perspective quickly earned recognition and respect. Recruited to join Stan Lee’s Atlas Comics, later Marvel, in 1958, his nuances contrasted well with Jack Kirby’s bombast. In 1962, in the pages of Amazing Fantasy, Ditko and Lee brought to life Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man, changing the industry forever. Leaving Marvel in 1966, he drew Blue Beetle and Captain Atom for Charlton, Creeper and Shade the Changing Man for DC, and his independent effort Mr. A. Ditko returned to Marvel during the late 1970s and remained for much of the 1980s, co-creating Speedball, Squirrel Girl and other characters who would prove of unexpected importance in Marvel’s later years.

This paperback collects the second half of Ditko's run on Spider-Man. The content itself is great, iconic writing by Stan Lee. This is some of athe best and most classic Spidey you can read and this epic collection line by Marvel is the best way to read them. It had an excellent price and it arrived in perfect condition.

Spider-man faces off against more foes and graduates from High school. As he heads off to college he gets off on the wrong foot with his fellow freshmen due to his personal problems and the dilemma of being Spider-Man.

This book is must-read for any fan of Spider-Man, and for comics history knowledge in general. These stories are what being a true super-hero is all about. I can't recommend it highly enough. I have purchased several books from the vendor - Amazing Comics - and they consistently deliver on time or ahead of schedule. Items are always well packaged and protected, I have not had any issues with them and I appreciate their consistently awesome service.

Amazing read here! The stories connect rather well, and have depth I did not expect. I got this along with Great Powers to see the beginnings of Spider-Man, and it is certainly a very well-written story about the teenager with great powers who needs no introduction, but is rather amazing to see how the web-slinger became such a massive pop-cultural phenomenon! The artwork is absolutely fantastic for its time, it really drew me into reading this, I highly recommend Great Powers, which is the first volume of this collection, and then this classic here! Well, don't just stand there, get these!

Classic Spiderman
Love Stan Lees writing it's what made Spiderman popular and I think anyone who is a Spiderman fan owes it to themselves to see why Spiderman was so good even before all the cartoons and movies.

Classic Spider-Man action in this second volume of the Epic Collection.On the Kindle app on my phone, it is a little small, but the pane-by-pane view works really well. These are formative years for Spider-Man, and the story just keeps getting better.

In many ways I wish I had bought the Omnibus editions but I didn't. The good thing about these volumes is that they include a great selection of bonus material as well as the classic Ditko-Lee stories. At least this volume can be read anywhere, the omnibus editions are a lot heavier but the artwork is on a slightly bigger scale.
