About the Author
Steve Ditko (1927 - 2018) began his comics career in the anthologies of the 1950s, where his unique style and perspective quickly earned recognition and respect. Recruited to join Stan Lee’s Atlas Comics, later Marvel, in 1958, his nuances contrasted well with Jack Kirby’s bombast. In 1962, in the pages of Amazing Fantasy, Ditko and Lee brought to life Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man, changing the industry forever. Leaving Marvel in 1966, he drew Blue Beetle and Captain Atom for Charlton, Creeper and Shade the Changing Man for DC, and his independent effort Mr. A. Ditko returned to Marvel during the late 1970s and remained for much of the 1980s, co-creating Speedball, Squirrel Girl and other characters who would prove of unexpected importance in Marvel’s later years.

This book is a great option for those of you who share your books, want to carry it with you on the go, or have a version that you can share with your kids. This book is not a collectors edition. It is meant to be dogeared, coffee stained, and well loved. And, of course, it is a great option for kids.If one critique: I wish more comic issues were included. Knowing that pivotal green goblin issues come next sequentially, it feels like Marvel purposely stopped here to save those issues.

Now that i read this volume i have completed reading in reprint the entire run of the steve ditco amazing Spider-Man from amazing fantacy 15 to amazing spiderman 38 and annual 1&2.it gave me a good sense of spiderman in the old days before my time in the 60s. although these mighty Marvel masterworks are a little smaller than the origional comics i didnt mind that so much.the paper it was printed on was of better quality than the origional. and of course it was a reprint. I recomend these four volumes that are out so far for all those that want to get a good sense of the webslinger in the early days!

Mi hijo de 11 años es quien lo ha comprado, ya lleva varios de la misma colección, para mi el mayor valor viene del hecho de que estan en ingles, pero es un vocabulario muy adecuado para un niño que esta aprendiendo el idioma como segunda lengua, los lee una y otra vez y cada vez les entiende mas. La calidad de los materiales es muy buena; el contenido es genial, ya que es una recopilación de las historietas que fueron saliendo desde el origen del comic, asumo que los coleccionistas prefieren las ediciones individuales, pero estas recopilaciones sirven para ver en orden cronológico la historia del hombre araña y sus enemigos sin que la historia se vea cortada por la falta de algún ejemplar.
Amazing Classic stories
This may be the lowest page count of all mighty marvel masterwork Spiderman volumes, delivering the final Steve Ditko stories before John Romita takes over, but the master planner saga on it's own makes this a must have for any spiderman fan as they are an all time classic. The rest of the issues are all fun reads with the introductions of the likes of Harry and Norman Osborn and Gwen Stacey, with more teases of Mary Jane Watson. So this volume is a easy 5 stars. Hopefully marvel continue this line of economically cheap volumes as they're great accessible purchases to some amazing silver age comic classics.
Great nostalgic read of the early Spidey Comic stories
Read these when I was a lad in the 70s, and having sold all my British Spider-man comics when I went to Uni, nice to relive these adventures at a reasonable price
