This isn't the book I thought I was getting but it is really cool. I used to have the Marvel Universe book individual comic book issues and I wanted the collected version because I always thought these profiles were the coolest encyclopedia of Marvel comic book characters. This one is an updated version of that guide but it does have a lot of really great heroes/villains and side characters. It's a must have for comic collectors especially if you appreciate the 80s versions. The artwork is excellent and there are great histories of the character and a synopsis of their powers.

It's the greatest collection of Marvel Universe updates since at least 1988!For some reason there's no entry for the X-Men's Polaris' alter-evil-ego 'Malice'. WHY NOT? Malice was great! Sure, she only really existed for a minute but no FULL update for the '89 collection. It's weird and maybe a bit disappointing for hardcore Polaris purist, but I have a feeling we'll all be able to move past it into the glorious future of Polaris in the X-iest of Men.

Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition was one of my favorite childhood comic series. I collected them all including the books of the dead and most of update '89. I already own the first Omnibus (all but the update series). This finishes off the series nicely!! Very high quality, easy to read through. No complaints whatsoever. I was able to purchase at $20 off the list price here on Bolo. Cheers!

This wasn't good at all. I don't know why they stopped writing the Biographies of the characters, and replaced them with the bibliographies, but I won't be purchasing any future editions.GET THE KINDLE VERSION! IT IS EXACTLY LIKE THE HARDCOVER, JUST A FRACTION OF THE PRICE!!! DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE!

It was more than I expected. It didn't just have the entire 89 update series, but also profiles from a bunch of other sources that came out at the same time.
