To be honest, I must say the book quality is INSANE, the pages, colors, images, all are amazing. The only thing that I didn't like was that some pages of the book came cut, but I think this is because of Bolo and not the book itself, the thing is, it's in multiagent section, one of the reasons why I purchase the last edition. :(

I was a little disappointed with this book - too much "philosophy" and not enough "Implementation." Otherwise excellent!For those of you that have $2300, I highly recommend the MIT XPRO course online called "AI in Healthcare" - my area of interest. I had to revive my Python coding skills and it is deep into calculus, but I learned more from the course then I did from this book (I have no financial relationship with MIT). It could be that in the course I had a mentor and we had tests, so I was forced to work.However, this is THE book on artificial intelligence and I recommend it.

The book seems great if I can get a useable copy. I keep getting a small heavy book in a too-large box. The first copy had a broken binding and the second had most of the TOC pages torn. I have ordered a third copy and hoping for better luck.But wait! They did it. America is great again! The books is wrapped in plastic and there is padding in the box. The books is pristine! Raising to 5 stars.

Understanding AI even without a computer science background
This textbook was used in my "Intro to AI" class and the teacher told us that it is considered the go-to textbook in the field of AI for students starting to learn it but also for practitioners. Not having a computer science background, I especially appreciated how the authors started with the basics not expecting any prior knowledge. The simple yet precise style of writing makes it easy to understand the concepts without simplifying things too much. This is not a practical guide for implementing ML or other algorithms. It is about the theory of AI. However, I think that the authors find a good balance between mentioning and explaining fundamental concepts in computer science (e.g. complexity) and not being too technical. Whenever I'm interested in learning about a new topic in AI, I first turn to this book which gives you a good basis. In my opinion this book can give you a deep understanding of AI while requiring little mathematical knowledge.

Comprei a versão em inglês. Fiz algumas pesquisas antes e constatei que a versão em português não está bem traduzida. Até agora se mostrou um bom livro. Nível de leitura ok, qualidade do material excelente. A única ressalva é o tamanho do livro, muito grande : )Difícil utilizá-lo como desodorante (levar para cima ou para baixo na axila). ;)
