Very classic book. I used to read the original version and benefited so much from the book. This one is basically the same concept but applied to daily family life, shared with the author’s personal stories.

I have been a student of Steven Covey's personal and family improvement teachings for years. Though the methods may seem to be too "fuzzy" or "unclear" to some people they truly do work so long as you understand and follow the principles. The key here is exactly as he says "there is no quick fix approach - you must reach deep into yourself to resolve these problems". I have applied them to problem people in my life with reasonable success, but not without changing myself.Although this material is intentionally not religion-specific you will tend to have greater success if you work to study and implement biblical teachings in your life at the same time as studying this material. Subordinating yourself to the will of our creator helps free you to make (what can be) difficult changes in your life and behavior.I found the audio format particularly useful to listen to on long driving trips, but I have been thanked by my family for giving them copies for help in correcting their family issues.

Why buy this, even if you've read the old one?Covey's original Families book is a reflection of his love for families and the depth of his thinking, and as such his passion is reflected by the word number.But THIS book feels like a whole rewrite, not just a revision. Fewer words, just as valuable a message, I feel like I am reading a brand new book. I'm barely in and I am loving the new approach.
Meh.
You can REALLY feel the upper-class privilege in the tone and "stories" in this book. Not as fabulous as folk would have you think.If the editors cut half of the chaff in this book, and it would at least be worth the time to read.
The cover of the books are really bad quality
I just opened the bag with the 2 books. One cover is broken and in general both covers are very thin and bad quality. I would like to return them and receive a refund please.
This book is in my library because it rocks!
I love the format Steven Covey uses in this book, his fans knows that his books are collector items. I have his books beside all my motivational books example Anthony Robbins,Lue Tyce,The one minute manager one and two! Management for idiots, I also have his book on my kindle!As Always Have A Marvellouss Day!Paul Conway Aka Mr. Marvellouss!
