"That rarest of beasts: the perfect thriller. This extraordinary novel set my blood fizzing―I quite literally couldn't put it down. I told myself I'd just dip in; eleven hours later―it's now 5:47 a.m.―I've finished it, absolutely dazzled."
―A. J. Finn, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Woman in the Window
“The Silent Patient sneaks up on you like a slash of intimidating shadow on a badly lit street. Alex Michaelides has crafted a totally original, spellbinding psychological mystery so quirky, so unique that it should have its own genre. I read it in two nights and savored every luscious word, every grim encounter, every startling twist. The pages will burn with the friction from your hands turning them.”

―Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, #1 New York Times bestselling authors of the Pendergast series

Brand New Book!“The Silent Patient” completely pulled me in from the first chapter. If you enjoy slow-burning psychological thrillers with smart plotting and emotional depth, this book is a must-read.🧠 Plot Summary (No Spoilers):Alicia Berenson, a famous painter, shoots her husband five times and then never speaks another word. She’s sent to a secure psychiatric facility, where forensic psychotherapist Theo Faber becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind her silence. What unfolds is a tense, layered journey full of secrets, trauma, and one of the most satisfying twists I’ve read in a while.✍️ Writing Style:Michaelides writes in a clear, fast-paced style that keeps the pages turning. The short chapters make it easy to binge, and the alternating perspectives add depth without being confusing.🎨 What I Loved:• The psychological depth of the characters• The way art, silence, and therapy are woven into the narrative• The final twist — truly jaw-dropping and brilliantly executed📖 What Could Be Better:Some readers might find the pacing a bit slow at the beginning, but I personally thought the buildup was worth it.🎯 Final Thoughts:This book is a perfect blend of suspense and psychology. It kept me guessing until the very last page. Highly recommend to fans of Gillian Flynn, Paula Hawkins, or B.A. Paris.✅ Would I Recommend?Absolutely. A 5-star read that stays with you long after you close the book.
4.0 out of 5 stars didn’t see that coming
I’m mad at myself. I usual figure things out. But nope ! Quite the twist ! Yup , he got me !
5.0 out of 5 stars You've Got To Read This!
I just finished this book and I'm blown away by how this author crafted this story as well as he did for a debut novel, I'd read so many great reviews and recommendations online for "The Silent Patient" but was hesitant to read it. The cover didn't appeal to me. There were several reasons, but I can't remember them all at the moment. Let's just say curiosity got the better of me.So I started reading and I really wasn't drawn in at first. In fact, I considered stopping at page 49. However, I knew I needed to at least give it another 50 pages,or so and I am SO glad I did! I encourage you to stick with it no matter what. This novel is just WOW! Having just read it, I am still reeling. It winds and turns and weaves what seems confusing or contradictory messages, but it's worth the ride! There is no doubt that this is a psychological thriller that will stay with you. All of those reviews and recommendations out there mean something! I thought the last lines of the book kind of faded out the end, but it wasn't like a cliffhanger, more poetic because you know the end without any doubt at the conclusion. I loved the style and I just flat out highly recommend this book! READ IT!
5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing, well written...I was not able to stop
I've been scouring through "romantasy" books lately, listening to the hype and TikTok ads for them. And while some were great reads, I wanted to try something different. So I started blindly scrolling Kindle Unlimited and came across this book. The cover of course intrigued my thriller and horror loving brain and the synopsis seemed promising. I started to read around 2pm at work on a slow day. When quitting time came around, I couldn't stop. So I checked Audible, the audiobook was on sale so I bought it and listened on my way home, while cooking dinner and during my walk and while getting the kids and myself ready for bed. Then I laid down and picked my tablet up to continue reading. I fell asleep around midnight, woke up at 5 and started reading again. I kid you not, I could NOT stop myself from reading. The author has a very talented way of pulling you in, getting you attached to characters while at the same time ominously letting you know something big is coming and you NEED to get to it. I finished the book around 6am the morning after I started it. It's that good.My brain tried and tried to come up with the inevitable twist but I wasn't close. I'd tell you some of my theories but it will ruin it for you. Just read it and enjoy the ride! Well worth it!!
3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but sloppy
A bit convoluted and choppy. Not my favorite lead character (Theo or Alicia). Tried hard to build suspense and fell short. The Jean-Felix angle was unsettling and Aunt Lydia is a nightmare.
4.0 out of 5 stars What a twisted web
This book was really good in a twisted circle sort of way. Just when you think you have a grip on what happened, the writer throws a twist in that flips your thought processes inside out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend
This book is incredible. I finished it in two days. I could hardly tend to my responsibilities as I could not put this book down! I did not see the twist coming, I'm completely blown away. Definitely worth reading.
5.0 out of 5 stars Don’t hesitate to add it to your library.
The plot twist of this thriller is the most unexpected and delightfully terrifying that I’ve read or seen in movies in a long time. This is definitely a thriller, a psych thriller. As someone about to start PMH-NP school I appreciated the quotes and insights about psychology. I highly recommend this book.
Did not expect the ending

And the ending is not what I expected. Definitely worth a read

Reviravoltas
O livro é muito bom. Quando o leitor acha que a trama vai em uma direção, no momento seguinte ela muda.
Good book
This book got me into reading and I've never looked back, it's a phenomenal book that's super interesting, the twists and turns will drive you mad. Expect the unexpected when your reading this book, there are a few sensitive topics but I found it amazing, it's super interesting and will keep the read interested. It's a great book to get you into reading or out of a reading slump. 100% recommend. <—*This was my old review but after having read many other books I can now say that this is not an amazing book but it isn’t bad either. The plot is kinda predictable and you can take a guess, apart from this the book is also really hard to get into until like half the book. I actually wouldn’t recommend this book for a reading slump anymore, there are far better, fast paced books you can read instead :)*
Haven’t read it yet
