to much side tracking off the electrical car.

1.0 out of 5 stars Obsolete from the press

A.C. · December 7, 2013

Don't waste time with this book 2.0. I also found truly dissapointing the 2nd edition has failing to add any value to the book. It has no treatment on regenerative braking which is one of the key functions in EVs and HEVs. The battery chapter has not been updated at all still paying attention to NiCd and NiMH batteries instead of Li-ion which are just mentioned. It would have been great to have a battery comparative treatment. The driving cycles are barely covered while it has become a big deal in evaluating new cars.5-6 years ago it was a good book, but now it's been born obsolete.

Good easy technology reading

I bought it because I needed an ‘all in one book’ about the subjectIt’s not exactly the best book, nor the most technical, but it’s reasonably good as a comprehensive book about the topic.
