QUENTIN DOCTER, A+, Network+, IT Fundamentals+, Cloud Essentials+, is an IT consultant who started in the industry in 1994 working in tech support for Packard Bell. Since then, he’s worked as a tech and network support specialist, trainer, consultant, and webmaster. During his career, he has achieved certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, Novell, and Sun Microsystems. He has written over a dozen books for Sybex, including the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Study Guide and the CompTIA Cloud Essentials+ Study Guide.
JON BUHAGIAR, A+, Network+, is an information technology professional with two decades of experience in higher education. During the past 22 years he has been responsible for Network Operations at Pittsburgh Technical College and lead several projects, including virtualization (server and desktop), VoIP, Microsoft 365, and many other projects supporting the quality of education at the college. He has achieved several certifications from CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft, and taught many of the certification paths. This is an amazing book if you’re studying for the Comptia a+ exam. This has the lastest knowledge in CompTiA A+ for anyone studying in the IT field that would like to take the exam and get certified. It has a lot of content in the table of contents and different vocabulary words and terms for the exam as well as basic knowledge for CompTia. It’s good to study online but having a book you can read and highlight is good as well. This book goes through various topics that include most of the knowledge needed about computers, laptops and other devices as well as software and hardware inside the PC.

Well I can say this if this book helped me it'll help you. I am completely computer illiterate. I knew the basics like mouse goes in to computer mouse works. Now though I understand a step up or two from that basic and can actually seem educated when talking about something. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in getting in to technology it'll explain things in a simple way.

This is a great book for introductory IT certification preparation. The book is easy to follow and maps out chapters according to tested domains. 4 stars because the diagrams and graphics are sometimes too blurry to make note of the details the text is calling attention to. And, chapter review question pools are very small and don't always give indication how it relates to the certification exam. Still one of the best options encountered and couples well with hands-on activities/online labs or exercises.

I love the information within the book as it seems to have everything you need to know in order to pass the exam but this book could be split into 2. It would be nice if it was split according to the 1101 and 1102 exams. The content is great but the amount of content is overwhelming. I guess this one with Dion and Messer, you'll be overly prepared for the exam and hopefully pass on the first try. But I also recommend getting the Kindle version.

Content = great! Book = Absurdly Large.
The content in this book is great and will help you for the exam. But I suggest getting the Ebook instead. The book is massive. It probably could be split into two large books itself. If that doesn’t bother you then power to you!

Ich habe mich zunächst mit diesem Buch eingearbeitet. Danach habe ich noch einen Online-Kurs belegt und dann mit den Prüfungsvorbereitungen begonnen.Man merkt dem Buch an, dass einige Beschreibungen sehr formalistisch erstellt worden sind. Das hat aber keine Folgen für die Qualität der Ausführungen. Es wirkt sich nur eventuell auf die tägliche Lerndauer aus. Wer mit monotonen Ausführungen nicht umgehen kann, wird das Buch in kleineren Abschnitten lesen können. Alles was man braucht, ist darin zu finden. Wen dagegen Monotonität nicht hindert lange zu lesen, kann auch sehr lange Lernzeiten mit diesem Buch verbringen.Ich fand das Buch gut und äußerst hilfreich. Entsprechend einfach vielen mir auch die Prüfungen.Die Besonderheit besteht in der Reihenfolge der Darstellung. Die Breite der Darstellung fand ich angemessen. Wer weniger Praxis hat, wird vielleicht längere Darstellungen wünschen.
