I bought the book to see how organic chemistry is being taught today. The approach in this text is quite different from the approach that I was taught back in the 70's. I am not sure how well students just being introduced to the subject would do with this text. I am still reserving judgement about that. But for someone who has been a professional organic chemist all his adult life, the book so far seems to be thorough enough. The explanations seem to be pretty good even though there is a lot of stuff that I think could completely confuse a young student.
