ASWATH DAMODARAN is Professor of Finance at New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding teaching, including the NYU university-wide Distinguished Teaching Award, and was named one of the nation's top business school teachers by Business Week in 1994. In addition, Damodaran teaches training courses in corporate finance and valuation at many leading investment banks. His publications include Damodaran on Valuation; Investment Valuation; Corporate Finance; Investment Management; and Applied Corporate Finance, all published by Wiley, and The Dark Side of Valuation.

I like the way A. Damodaran discusses finance. He builds on a few key guiding principles that you can always refer back to check if sub-ideas are consistent with the main idea and thereby giving you a more consistent understanding of finance.

I ordered a new book but got a used one that had a quarter of the pages highlighted. Getting a return is too tiresome so I didn’t bother but it was disheartening nonetheless. The content itself was excellent though, Prof. Damodaran’s expertise in the subject is almost unparalleled.

Damodaran is always the best choice around valuation and corporate finance. An amazing book with good examples.

Gutes Buch - Im Quervergleich würde ich allerdings das etwas grössere Buch Investment Valuation (ebenfalls von Aswath Damodaran) empfehlen. Insbesondere, wenn man sich für die Details interessiert. Das Wort "Applied" kann hier wohl am besten mit "abgespeckt" übersetzt werden.

Very good book on corporate finance
This came up as anther recommended from a friend who is practicing finance controller in a MNC. I just wanted to understand more details. I read corporate finance as part of my MBA curriculum but needed to revise the concepts. I can see why this book is so highly reputed..
