Revelation - Bible Study Book with Video Access: Eternal King, Everlasting Kingdom

Description:

OVER 100,000 COPIES SOLD!

Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way?

Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study, Jen Wilkin helps you discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God's great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age.

Features:

  • Verse-by-verse study of the book of Revelation
  • 10 video teaching sessions unpacking truths found throughout the study and offering additional insights, available via redemption code printed in the Bible study book
  • 9 weeks of personal study featuring illuminating questions to help you focus on and understand Scripture
  • Includes the full text of Revelation
  • Appendix with helps for interpretation and further study
  • Leader helps for group discussion

Benefits:

  • Learn how to read and understand the language and symbols of apocalyptic writing
  • Move from confused to confident, anxious to assured, and intimidated to inspired as you study the end times
  • Understand Revelation as the culmination of God’s great story
  • Walk through the book verse-by-verse, from start to finish
Video Sessions:
  • Introduction: Before You Begin (04:56)—In this introductory video, Jen describes her Bible study methodology and what to expect from her study approach to the book of Revelation. Watch this video with your group or on your own before you begin your study.
  • Bonus Video: A Word for Group Leaders (03:53)—If you’re leading a Bible study group or facilitating discussion through Revelation, don’t miss this leader video with a word from Jen just for you.
  • Week One: Unveiling (59:57)—In this introduction to the study, Jen gives an overview and background information to the book of Revelation and walks through Revelation 1:1-3. She also explains the genre of apocalyptic literature and the important role the Old Testament plays in understanding John’s vision.
  • Week Two: Seven Churches (51:18)—Jen walks through Revelation 1:4–3:22, John’s vision of the Son of Man and the letters to the seven churches in Asia Minor. These verses hold encouragement for us and the church today to stand strong in our faith because Jesus is ruling and reigning from His throne.
  • Week Three: The Heavenly Throne Room (45:25)—In this video, Jen teaches Revelation 4–5, John’s vision of the heavenly throne room. Using passages from throughout Scripture, Jen helps make sense of the scene John views and the heavenly reality we can hold onto with assurance and hope.
  • Week Four: Seven Seal (41:20)—As we continue through the book of Revelation, Jen teaches on Revelation 6:1–8:1, the seven seal judgments that are poured out on the earth. We will consider how this scene of God’s wrath being poured out on the earth can grow our faith in the Lord and our endurance unto the end.
  • Week Five: Seven Trumpets (49:44)—This video features Jen’s teaching on Revelation 8:2–11:19, which covers the seven trumpet judgments. As Jen explains, these chapters encourage us that God is long-suffering, just, and faithful to all generations.
  • Week Six: Seven Histories (50:04)—Revelation 12:1–15:5, which Jen teaches through in this video, covers seven snapshots from John’s vision. These chapters give a glimpse at the interplay between heavenly and earthly realities, offering an anchor of encouragement to the children of God in every age.
  • Week Seven: Seven Bowls (40:10)—In this teaching, Jen covers Revelation 15:1–16:21, the seven bowl judgments. These scenes serve as a reminder that God’s love for the saints necessitates His justice against His enemies.
  • Week Eight: Seven Words of Woe (49:56)—As Jen teaches through Revelation 17:1–19:10, seven messages that describe the downfall of the kingdom of earth, we are reminded that we await a better city—the eternal kingdom of God.
  • Week Nine: Seven Last Sights (56:00)—With this teaching, Jen nears the end of Revelation and God’s grand story. Revelation 19:11–21:8 describe the final demise of the enemy and the celebration of the bride of Christ in all her glory.
  • Week Ten: On Earth as in Heaven (39:19)—Jen closes her study on Revelation with Revelation 21:9–22:21. This final picture from John’s vision is an encouragement for us toward steadfastness and hope.

This study was recommended to me by a family member. Presently three family members are involved in it. This a study takes you into Old and New Testament books of the Bible that the book of Revelation ties into. There are cross references given, charts, music recommendations that are wonderful aids. Utilizing the video is a great tool. If I miss something she says, it is easy to go back and see it again. I will probably not do this in ten weeks, but that is fine with me. I am feasting on the Word of God. Jen Wilkin masterfully leads you through what is typically thought to be an overwhelming book of the Bible. You can have a much greater understanding of Revelation. I will probably go on and try Jen's Abide study after this. I am very pleased.

Jen helped me to begin to understand Revelation. She chunked it in ways that made sense to me and focused on content that encouraged faith rather than fear, endurance rather than escape. My husband and I did the study together and then I led a ladies group in doing a church study.I felt confident that they were receiving solid teaching. Many enjoyed the challenge, but some found the material overwhelming.

This study will change how you think of the book of Revelation.Jen helps to show you how to study a book and to use our own look back skills of the Bible to help understand what John was writing. How to interpret the symbols and numbers and descriptions of things. She does not push a certain view of the rapture but leaves it to you to come to your own judgment. This is a must and favorite study ive done.

5.0 out of 5 stars So interesting!

Jen Wilkin is an amazing Bible teacher. She really knows her stuff, but is about as unpretentious as one can be. My ladies’ Bible study group will be starting this in September but, as you can see, I’ve already purchased it. We are living in the last days, which is so exciting!I came back after reading the one-star reviews. Please take the following in the spirit it was intended. One reviewer complained that she didn’t know this was a Bible study for women. According to the New Testament [predominantly Paul’s instruction], women are not to speak up in the church, nor teach men. It doesn’t mean women are too stupid to understand, mind you. I’m not married but, if I have some concern or other, I talk to one of our pastors about it and give them the choice of whether they think it merits discussion with the other male leaders of the church [because they are the ones ultimately accountable to God], or whether my premise is either incorrect [that very rarely happens, but I give them the grace to correct me so I do not go astray nor lead others down the wrong path (those to whom it is my responsibility but also my joy to share the gospel) and I do not get all worked up about it]; somewhat correct [in need of some tweaking or correction], or completely wise, in which case I say “Soli Deo Gloria” [glory to God alone]. If a man CHOOSES to come to the Bible study, he is putting HIMSELF under the teaching [authority] of a woman—he is not there to take over. I have never seen that happen in church [Sunday School] but there are prominent and godly female teachers who, when they film sessions, sometimes I see men in the congregation. I am NOT speaking of any Word of Faith [“prosperity gospel”] teachers and preachers. I will leave you to look it up.Secondly, someone said that lesson 2 has 68 questions. It does not; it has 30 questions. As with any Bible study, you get out of it what you put into it. When you buy the book with video access on Amazon or Lifeway for $24.99 + tax, you have purchased unlimited access to them, either by going to lifeway.com and clicking or tapping on “My Library” or through the app on your phone or tablet. There’s not one thing that says you can’t take as long as you need, even after the course of the study with your group is complete, to go through and finish answering the questions and watch the videos as often as you would like.Lastly, PLEASE don’t quit! You won’t be sorry. Are you aware that Revelation is the only book in the Bible which contains a promise to those who read it? “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” [Revelation 1:3 NASB]

5.0 out of 5 stars Deep dive Bible study

T.K. · October 2, 2024

I have done several studies with Jenn Wilkins and really enjoy her teaching. She’s clearly sincere and knowledgeable. This new Revelation course is deep and intense, but also fairly presents major views of eschatology without bias. She avoids taking a hard stance on admittedly difficult topics like the rapture, exact timing of events, and what is literal vs possibly symbolic, but doesn’t shy away from leading you to research scripture and ask questions yourself. While I don’t necessarily agree with all her theories, that’s fine because the very nature of Revelation (particularly if you view most of it, as stated, as future prophecy) prevents us from knowing exactly how to interpret everything. We should hold this loosely and avoid making predictions and assumptions, and agree to fellowship with each other even if we view this beautiful book through different perspectives. We won’t know exactly what much of the events are until they happen, but it’s crucial that we read, listen to, and study the revelation we’ve been given and accept that the Lord has a perfect plan we will eventually understand completely. Since this isn’t a salvation issue or one we should hold blindly, I think the method the author uses to guide us in seeking answers through past prophecy and exploring the entire Bible is entirely appropriate. I would advise not starting with this if you’ve never read scripture and are new to Bible studies, because it is challenging and involves a lot of research. But everyone should undertake a serious study of Revelation at some point, and you needn’t be a scholar or even familiar with the Bible completely to read this book and understand it. God gave us His Word to discern ourselves through the Holy Spirit and if we pray for wisdom, He will guide you through His fascinating and profoundly essential gift to us. God bless you on your journey!
