  • Session 3: I AM the Light of the World (21:40)—This third session puts participants at Jacob's well where Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman. Lysa discusses Jesus as the Living Water and how this Samaritan woman became a light to her world by telling others about Jesus.
  • Session 4: I AM the Good Shepherd and I AM the Gate of the Sheep (18:10)—Psalm 23 tells us about God as a Good Shepherd. Lysa explores that Psalm and reminds listeners that God promises not to restore our circumstances, but rather to restore our soul.
  • Session 5: I AM the Resurrection and the Life and I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life (20:55)—In this fifth session Lysa overlooks the city of Jerusalem and studies the passage of the raising of Lazarus. She reminds the listener that Jesus longs to bring His resurrection power to us.
  • Session 6: I AM the True Vine (17:35)—During this final session we find ourselves in a vineyard learning about God as the Gardener and Jesus as the True Vine. We learn that pruning makes us look more like Jesus and prepares us to bring forth fruit.

I really enjoyed this bible study. Lysa did a great job of both presenting the material in an easily accessible way for the lay learner, and also offering just enough challenge. Loved the tie-ins between OT and NT, and the videos set in the Holy Land. She asks some important questions for personal consideration, and they made me reflect a lot. Challenging us to write our own prayers based on those reflections is meaningful. I also love that once the study is complete, I can go back through my workbook again with completed study notes, and personal reflections. I'll likely consider more of Lysa's studies. I've done several studies now with Lifeway authors, and have enjoyed them all. I only wish Lifeway would publish the workbooks with a spiral bound, to make it easier to write in, but this is a small thing (and maybe would make the workbooks more expenseive so why they don't do it).

This is the second Bible Study I have done with Lysa TerKeurst and I just love it. I feel as if I've known Lysa for years. ....I really relate to her style and depth. She is a real person, with trials, tribulations, joys and heartaches just like us. Even though I am old enough to be her Mom, I can easily relate to how she shares her love of the Bible and her videos make you feel like you are right there with her.. This study is done in various locations in Israel and you can almost feel Jesus walking right beside you as you go through each lesson. I hope God continues to use Lysa to spread His word...and then uses all of us who have been inspired by this blessed woman to also share what we have learned in this broken world we live in and to find peach, love and light in our own worlds as well!
