In order to recognize that you're in a codependent relationship, you have to study this phenomenon a little. This book does a great job of not only explaining and showing it to you but also of helping you break this unhealthy bond. I've found myself in codependent relationships, and while I've had rudimentary knowledge of this plight, I learned a lot from this book, which is helping me make better sense of past such relationships and evaluate my current situation with a higher level of awareness and readiness, frankly. The book offers many practical exercises, and you don't have to do them all to benefit greatly, in my opinion. In the end, as an empath, I really liked the book because it is helping me find a balance between helping others and taking care of myself. A very useful book!

I like that it's not too long and overwhelming and it has exercises you can practice to change you're way of living. I knew I struggled with relationships and it had to do with a fear of abandonment but never knew how to really do work to fix it. This book has opened my eyes and given me hope to heal and live better.

Oh, how much we don't know about ourselves! I realized late in life that my struggle to please those around me was actually a weakness, and that learning to say no was a strength. This book confirms my feelings, and it is a useful guide allowing us to examine our behaviors and sort through the negative issues that lead to inner peace. To me, it all boiled down to anxiety and a lack of self love, something I learned from reading Lulu Nicholson's book. I intend to study it more thoroughly in the near future. It is well written and contains helpful exercises for exploring and overcoming our codependency.

5.0 out of 5 stars It’s not a book…it’s an experience!
I found the “Codependency Recovery Workbook” extremely helpful. It’s not your normal self-help book, where you are inundated with info and told what to do. The author relates to you on a personal level, sharing their own experiences and others going through the same thing. Because codependency is not black or white, the book covers the grey areas, too. I find that I don’t always fit in the standard box of anxiety attachment or codependency, so this book really hit the nail on the head. Without trying to sound cliche…It felt more like listening to a friend than a self-help book. The author does an excellent job of being empathetic and holding us responsible for our actions at the same time. She literally walks you through the past traumas or experiences of your childhood, and step-by-step, she guides you through the work that needs to be done. It’s about forgiving and healing so we can move on to healthy relationships in every area of our lives. I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s a must-read to experience for yourself or someone you love.
