About the Author
Tommy's resume includes performances at the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame, A Tribute to Merle Travis at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas, the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society in Nashville and the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.
Tommy has conducted clinics and workshops across the U. S. and Europe. He is well known for his work with the Music Educators National Conference, the Merle Travis Guitar Festival at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and other venues. He has participated in workshops with a number of nationally recognized guitarists including his cousin Merle Travis, Mel Bay, Thom Bresh, Bill Bay, John Knowles, Buster B. Jones, and Muriel Anderson.
Tommy has written 40 instructional books (with companion recordings) published by Mel Bay Publications. Many of his books are used in the nation's leading music schools. He also writes for Fingerstyle Guitar magazine. Tommy is heavily scheduled playing concerts, conducting workshops and clinics, writing, recording and personally instructing a limited number of exceptional students. His performances, clinics, videos, books tapes are an inspiration to guitarists and guitar music lovers the world over.
Tommy's honors include a Governor's Appreciation Certificate for his participation in Oklahoma Homecoming '90. He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Bluegrass State. He was proud to be designated a Country Music Pioneer by the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Association. A street in Drakesboro, KY was recently named Tommy Flint Avenue. Tommy has attended the Reunion of Country Music Artists by special invitation from the CMA. One reunion was highlighted when Tommy and legendary guitarist Mose Rager (Merle Travis' mentor) took the stage together.
Through the early influences of Merle Travis, Mose Rager, and Spider Rich, Tommy developed an unmistakable style of his own.

Notation and tablature are spot on. Has songs like yellow bird, yakety axe, Yankee doodle Dixie, windy and warm, wheels, and a few more I can't think of at the moment. Definitely a book I would recommend.

The Transcriptions are a little hard to read but the chord diagrams are helpful. This is certainly not a good book for beginners and being able to read music is a plus. I was able to find a demonstration of at least one of the songs ("Wheels") on YouTube which was very helpful. My main reason for picking this up was the transcription of "Walk Don't Run" which I think Chet does a masterful job in his version which is as close, if not better, than the original Johnny Smith tune.
4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate transcriptions. Unusual mix of material.
I found all of these on Youtube and they are accurate to a T. The traditional notation is very good and the tabs are accurate but written in non-standard style which makes them hard to read. Some of the songs, e.g. John Henry, are just fragments taken out of a larger piece. Mr. Bojangles, Windy and Warm, etc. are accessible to the advanced intermediate player and stand on their own, other pieces, e.g. Wimoweh, don't makes much sense as solo pieces. That said, I highly recommend this book if you are looking to play some original Chet Atkins arrangements. A nice addition to your finger-style guitar library.

This book contains a nice song selection and the transcriptions seem OK, but the engraving is hard to look at and the TAB is horrendous.
A useful addition
I bought this item following my purchase of 2 volumes of Chet Atkins in Three Dimensions.This only contains transcriptions of recordings made by Chet Atkins -- there is no other narrative about Chet. In this respect, this book was disappointing for me. Not being a guitar player I have no real use for the transcriptions although I do find it useful to be able to listen to the recordings and follow the transcriptions in print.

初版は昔に発売されたかもしれませんが、これはタブ譜も付いていてチェットファンには良い教則本。ただ、CDが付いていないのが残念だが現在はどこでも手に入る音源なのでファン必須アイテム！

普通の楽譜のサイズよりも、小さく、タブだけど、とても、数字が見にくい、そして、曲数はあるが、なんか、テーマだけの、ところがあって、なにしろ、見ずらい、普通の値段なのに、もっと、大きくしろ、なにしろ、ストレスたまる、チェットの楽譜は殆どもっているが、重なってる曲が少ないのが、唯一の取り柄です、
