I had the honor of meeting Ms. Brody right after she first published this book. She was attempting to provide long-distance caregiving to her mother at the time- from the opposite coast. I found her to be a very approachable person. I admit to hero-worship as I was then in the midst of my grad school career and it seemed that every other article on aging issues was quoting her at that time. I just purchased this updated edition. The concept is the same---- as women we bear the brunt of the caregiving tasks and it isn't easy. I see a few men taking on the task in my work environment and I wonder how they have managed to overcome the conventional women are the caregivers ideology?
