Bought this for my eleven year old who loves to draw anime. She really likes this book and uses it often. The little chibi characters are really cute and the step by step instructions are excellent. It includes sections on how to draw facial expressions, body laguage, action, beginning a sketch all the way to color. The only thing missing is a "how-to" on shading but you can just look at their examples.She also uses "Manga for the Beginner" (also by Christopher Hart) and "Manga Moods" (by Saori Takarai) both of which I would highly recommend.

I really enjoy this book. I used to check it out of my library as kid and now I own it lol. But it’s great for inspiration for drawing and art block.

WARNING: This book is not for beginers. There are few step by step instructions, the rest you have to figure out on your own. (you lazy people)For those who are not beginers, this book goes fairly deep into the world of Chibi characters. It shows basics in body structures and facial expressions.It also touches bases on many catgirl body types.I feel this book gives you a wide variety of ideas that you can use to create catgirls.All and all this is one of Mr. Hart's better books. One of the facts is that he put less of his style into this book. Which causes it to become more manga, not americanized/manga that he usually draws.Which is a good thing.I really like the section in the back about stylized chibi's from Japan.

I chose this rating because this book was well written and the illustrations are great. I have used this book already and am drawing the Chibis, thanks to this easy to read and understanding the instructions. I would definitely recommend this book to others young and old.

My 4th grade daughter loves to draw and thinks this book is the greatest. She carries the big thing in her backpack with her to school every day so that she and her friends can use it together. I have already picked up two additional copies to give as gifts to her friends who seem to also think its the bomb.

Over all this book is accully quite wonderful. Has a lot of different facial features for you to practice on as well as different types of chili's to work on whether it's human or other but I do have my own thought or rather my own comment of the "furry" aspect of the book. From what I can tell there more human like than anthropomorphic animals, I'd say there more neko than anything else just different colored skin. (But that's just my own thoughts)

Obwohl dieses Buch auf englisch geschriebne ist , ist es sehr einfach zu lesen und zu verstehen ! Mit diesem Buch kann man super einfach das zeichnen von Mangas nach kurzer Zeit erlernen und dazu macht das üben auch noch großen Spaß ! Ich habe dank diesem tollen Produkt schon einige tolle Chibis aufs Blatt gebracht :) Finde das Buch richtig toll und deswegen 5 Sterne von mir ! Der Versand war schnell bin rundum zufrieden mit allem :)

I loved it it shows you preportions of the body and gives easy to follow instructions the best one iv found and iv used alot of chibi books :) and this seller is so good !!
Parfait pour apprendre à dessiner les CHIBIs et FURYs des Mangas !
Le format de ce livre fait 21,6cm x 27,6cm, ce qui se rapproche du format A4 niveau encombrement.L'intérieur est imprimé en couleur ce qui est plutôt une bonne surprise pour le prix.C'est un album contrecollé, de 148 pages avec une couverture cartonné souple et une tranche.Ce livre n'existe pas en version française ce qui est bien dommage, car les explications en anglais y sont nombreuses.Le début de l'ouvrage vous explique en gros comment passer d'un visage normal à une version CHIBI, et fait de même pour l'ensemble du corps.Le reste du livre vous montre comment dessiner en 2 ou 3 croquis, avec toujours un dessin en couleur pour le résultat final, ce qui est très agréable.Il aborde aussi les différentes façons de dessiner les émotions du visage de CHIBIs.Il montre aussi comment dessiner différent monstres CHIBI de façon bien plus jolie que dans le volume Xtreme Art: Draw Manga Monsters!, que j'ai aussi commenté sur ce site.Pour les FURYs, mi-fille mi-chatte, le livre détaille même l'ossature de ce genre de personnage pour comprendre comment les dessiner.C'est donc un excellent livre qui ravira les apprentis dessinateur de manga à partir de 14 ans, mais il me parait un peu trop difficile à aborder pour les enfants et les plus jeunes.
