This is the first book on DNA that was written for the average person to read without overwhelming them is technical terms that are not well understood by the average person. It is an easy read explaining the complexities of DNA in truly layman's terms and absorb the material. I thought I understood DNA, but realized after reading this book that I had managed to get pieces wrong. The book helped me correct those misunderstandings. If you are going to do genealogy work, this book is an absolute must-have. I wish I had known about it 3 years ago - it would have been a great help and I would not have to go back and recheck my work.

The description says “ This guidebook makes use of multiple full-color visual aids. ” but this book is printed entirely in black and white! I’ll be returning and buying from somewhere else (authors website). Bolo, you messed up.

Book was shipped in envelope not a box. The postal service bent it in half to stuff in our mailbox which damages the covers. These books need to be packaged better. Otherwise great book!

My local DNA SIG group had the color pages that were missing and needed for the reading. I got the colors and placed them in front of the pages. The description should state that this is a total B and W copy. BAD description in the overview to the purchaser. Buyer be where; of this, as you will need them to understand the concepts.
Great book!
I purchased this book so I could learn on my own time schedule. It is doing just that at an easy to understand pace.
