Good selection of songs from Hal Leonard. The typical songs found in guitar instruction books are usually lousy due to copyright issues (They tend to use songs in the public domain. Hal Leonard owns the copyrights here, hence good tunes).The book is graded in order of difficulty - whole notes mixed with quarters to start, then it introduces the key of one shard, then eighth notes. Beatles tunes, Bob Marley - the song selection is great and the chords are mostly accurate. Judging by the interest of my students, "Nowhere Man" is the standout song.You should note, however, that the songs in this edition are not the same as in previous editions -If you purchase a used book, it may contain 3 or 4 different songs that were replaced by the ones in this volume. For better or worse, depending on your taste. Personally, I could do without "Hey There Delilah" but the Green Day is a nice addition. Finally, this edition corrects the horrible note mistakes that plagued the original version of "Imagine". Earlier editions had completely wrong notes, and good on them for recognizing and fixing this.The other 2 volumes ( highly recommended also) introduce different keys and more complex rhythms

Great stuff! Even as a beginner, I am using this book daily and learning one song at a time in conjunction with Progressive Guitar Method for Beginners Book 1 and supplement by Gary turner and Brenton White. Also picked up "more easy Pop Melodies" from the music store. As an adult (over 50) trying to prove your never too old to learn, it is great to be able to play a few songs that everyone recognizes. This is NOT a lesson book, just super easy songs with beginner notes and lyrics. No Tabs or strum patterns.

I am a private music teacher and I have used dozens of "Easy Pop Melodies" as part of my curriculum. I use it in conjunction with Hal Leonard's "Complete Guitar Method". I like the way it uses familiar songs, though many of my younger students don't know them. It introduces songs progressively from easy to more difficult. When used with the "Complete Guitar Method" book, it provides a nice break from exercises and lets them have a more practical experience. They will play both written melodies and new chords as they learn them. A good choice.

I am a true beginner on the guitar. I think the Hal Leonard series is a great way to begin your guitar journey. It progresses at an easy pace which keeps the frustration level down. Frustration leads to quitting and we don't want to quit . . . . do we? Practice, practice, practice.

After working on Hal Leonard Guitar Method Complete Edition, I decided to get this book for some additional songs to practice. And after realizing that you cannot print from Kindle book, I went for the paper version since I wanted to be able to see more than 1 page at a time (for songs that are 2 pages). Unfortunately, this version did NOT come with any audio CDs. It looks like there is one with Book and CD for higher price but this is not it. I say this because I find practicing with audio tracks on the Guitar Method to be much more fun and effective for me. It gives you a chance to hear what the song is supposed to sound like, keep with the proper tempo, and just more fun playing.I am still practicing the songs, but in the future, I will be looking more carefully to select books with audio CD or youtube feed that you can play along with your lessons.

Es ist sehr gut. Es enthält viele berühmte Lieder für Gitarrenanfänger. Meine Tochter liebt es. Ich würde dieses Buch auf jeden Fall jedem Gitarrenanfänger empfehlen.

Io l'ho comprato su consiglio del maestro a mia figlia al secondo anno di chitarra. Non c'è un cd ma file audio da scaricare dal sito ufficiale attraverso un codice personale.
