5.0 out of 5 stars Biggest complaint is that it is too short. I really enjoyed the book

b. · June 15, 2025

It’s a very very short read, maybe 30 minutes front to back. It is interesting though. This is the first Deadpool comic I’ve ever read and it’s much different than what Ryan Reynolds puts out. Much grittier. I dig it. Actually, rn Marvel is publishing a sequel called Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe Again!I believe only the first 2/3 issues have come out, so if you’re looking and enjoy this book, you may be able to grab the follow ups as well

*CAUTION: A FEW MILD SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO CARE*In an alternate universe overseen by the Watcher, a mad scientist named Psycho Man breaks Deadpool's mind to create an army of broken souls but what he really does is unleash Deadpool's rampaging murderer side. As Deadpool embarks to kill all the superheroes who think he's loony or crazy, his first targets are the Fantastic Four. Utilizing Hank Pym's Pym Particles, Arcade's deathtraps, and even Puppetmaster's power, along with his own, he takes down the entire Marvel roster as well as the universe itself! So, Deadpool pulls a Punisher and tries to kill everyone. His crafty nature allows him to utilize other weaponry but watching Deadpool slaughter the X-Men, Fantastic Four, the Avengers, etc. was very fun. Wolverine's death was a bit lackluster though. Wolverine is "killed" once by Deadpool but comes back only to have his head cut off. However, Deadpool has his head blown off a few times in the comic and still comes back so I doubt Wolverine died. The references Wade makes to the Punisher's similar comic were funny and the ending was pretty clever and funny but overall, the story's just lacking. The art by Dalibor Talajic looks good and the writing for Deadpool's dialogue is well done butCullen Bunn's story is lacking. This is no Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe story here. Having Taskmaster track down Deadpool was a nice touch too but his demise was another letdown. The book is a softcover and slightly smaller than other softcovers being 9.9x6.4in. The paper's cheap and flimsy and you get textless covers, a script and sketches, and a bunch of cover art sketches as well. The extras are there but the make of the book is shoddy. Overall, it's a fun read but don't spend a bunch of money on it.

Snapped my humerus in half and needed surgery. I didn't want to watch TV the whole time so I decided to catch up on some reading. I live in the middle of no where and there isn't a comic shop anywhere. I was a comic addict before I got married. I guess this means I fell off the wagon. Oh well. Funny and great story. The book arrived quickly and in great condition. It helped while I was on the mend.

I loved this comic when it came out, this was an immediate pre-order, as soon as it hit Bolo. I love the character, but there has been some attempts to make the character less dark and more goofy/crazy recently. I'm thinking of Deadpool Corps and Way's run on the current book here. Unlike a lot of the hard-core fans, I actually don't mind that take on Deadpool, but I miss the old, darker, but still funny Deadpool from Joe Kelly's run. This book goes further than that, making him the total villain that Marvel would never dedicate a full time series, or a movie to.Warning, spoilers ahead: My main complaint about this is that it was over too quickly. He takes out the Avengers in like 5ish pages, and the battle with the Fantastic Four isn't shown until the very end of the fight. I mean, he kills everyone, everywhere, but it's a four comic series. The ways he takes out the various heroes, with only the power to heal himself (but much more quickly than ever before) are clever. I liked the explanation on why he starts killing everyone, Psycho-Man trying to brainwash him, too. There are aspects of this book that hint at more going on, the new voice in his head was well done, actually. Taskmaster was great, and the reference to the Power Pack and the scene with Professor X were chilling but kinda fun. The tone was well handled. The art is clean, but there isn't a lot of motion. It feels like a series of stills. This is one of the darker books I have read, not for the kiddies, or if you need a happy ending/closure or anything other than what the title tells you. But if it sounds good to you, this is a good buy, and a good price

I love the book

Deadpool en su lado mas oscuro

M.H. · February 26, 2016
