About the Author
Louise Kulp is a painter, fiber artist, and art educator and in 2018 earned certification as an Advanced Oxford Instructor with a focus on special techniques. Louise has taught the joy of punch needle rug hooking to hundreds of students in many different settings, from women in a grief support group in rural Maine to second graders in an after-school program in the Bronx. She lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Wow! What a work of art the book itself is! It is filled with a multitude of beautiful pictures, easy to understand instructions, and so many new ideas! I am a rug hooker and have done punch hooking before but this book has expanded my creativity and has shown me that I can take my art to a new level. The best “instruction” book ever, and I have a lot of them!!

This book is full of historical information and pictures of past work. If you are looking for a useful instruction book with helpful diagrams and projects this probably not the book that you are looking for.

The first book was an excellent introduction with some great starter projects. The second book takes you even further and there’s so much more to learn. Making a punch is really easy, if you just do a little practice, you’ll become an expert in no time. These books really help with technique and improving upon your skills.I made my first punch when I was in high school. I remember how excited it was to see the design taking shape and being completed. Of course my design back then was a typical teenagers picture, but now I’m working on some really great patterns that I bought from the author.

Amazing book
This is the best book for intermediate and advanced Punch needle Rug hooking. It’s written by Amy, Oxford and Louise Kulp, full of lessons examples of beautiful rugs and lots of free patterns within instructions in the book.Now it’s just a matter of choosing the next Rug to punch, I do hope to get Amy and Louise to sign the book. The photo that I selected is by Kelly Wright of the Mindful Crafters Institute in Germany.
